Ambien Zolpidem Tartrate Medication —

I have been taking this medicine for about 6 weeks. I also have been suffering for a severe headache all day and night. Finally I put this together and thought, Hmmmm, just maybe it is the Ambien causing the headache. The last 2 nights I have not taken the Ambien and guess what, no headache.. Coincidence? I'm going to take a pill again tonight just to see if this is what is causing the headaches. I will add my findings when I can.

I have been taking Ambien for two weeks and the headaches are only getting worse. I have been using a ice pack each and every night in order to get some minor relief. I suffer from insomnia and have seen numerous "sleep specialists" who want me to purchase thousands of dollars worth of machinary so that I could get drug free sleep. To top it off, my employeer switched insurance carriers. I was taking lunesta for the past three years and it worked fairly well. HAP doesn't cover lunesta and I am now stuck with this headache machine. I guess alcohol induced sleep may be my last option. LOL!

If you are not taking Ambien, have you found another pill which does not cause a headache.

Have you found a substitute for Ambien?

I was on a Ambien for two months. Began having horrible daily headaches but did not attribute them to the Ambien, Even had a cat scan done! Finally got wise, stopped the Ambien and my headaches and dizziness have almost disappeared.

Melodee , I hope you are OK. Can you please tell me if you had withdrawls or more headaches? I've been on Zolpidem (generic Ambien) for three months now ,, and i have terrible burning headaches. was just woundering if you recovered.
Thanks
