Ambien is a prescription drug that helps you fall asleep if you have insomnia or trouble falling asllep for more than 3 days. If you take the medicine as perscribed it works very well, you fall asleep within fifteen to thirty minutes of taking it, but you have to make sure that you are able to get at least eight hours of sleep. When you wake up you do not feel drowsy or have any effect from the drug. If you take more than prescribed it get result in you sleep walking and while sleep walking you may do things that you will not remember doing the next day. I have taken more than prescribed and have been told that I was sleep walking and have made breakfast at two thirty in the morning, I have rearranged cupboards and not remembered, also I have had my keys in my hand to go and get in my car to drive somewhere. Luckily I have been stopped when I have tried to drive a car. There have been reports of people getting into accidents because of being a sleep when they attempted to drive somewhere. If you take this drug it is very important to only take what the doctor tells you and to also take it right before you get in bed.
