Sometimes great, sometimes not so much

3

I am an African American woman with a deep, dark complexion. I started using Ambi Even and Clear Facial Moisturier, SPF 30 about a year ago. I loved that it contained sunscreen which was definitely a plus for me, it didn't contain oil, which was great for my combination skin, and it claimed to even skin tone. I at the time had a pretty even complexion minus some scarring so I figured that the product could help me maintain it. Initially, the product worked great. My complexion was smooth and supple and I felt it was being protected while exposed to sunlight. It felt slightly oily but I figured that was probably due to the sunscreen agents in it which it smelled a lot like. I figured these were just minor drawbacks to the great results. After a few months, my skin kind of started to do its own thing. I noticed more breakouts. I am not blaming Ambi for it, but despite, my skin didn't improve with its use. I was able to somewhat get around its pricey cost with a coupon.

Ambi irritated my skin

I brought the Ambi Even and Clear Facial Moisturizer a few months ago. My mother told me that Ambi is a great company for African American skin but that the moisturizer broke his face out. I decided to try the moisturizer anyway because I needed something for my face that had sunscreen to it. To me this is a very expensive product. Although that may have been I tried it anyway and the first couple of days my skin looked good. After that I noticed that my face was starting to turn red around the bottom of my jaw. This product had burnt my face. I stopped using the moisturizer immediately and it soon went away. It caused my face to pill leaving shinny patches. I don't want to do away with the moisturizer but I think that I might have been allergic to the sunscreen it but I don't know why I only had a reaction on those locations. I think that I am going to try the moisturizer again and use less then a dime size. Ambi is a great product and it is for African American women unfortunately this particular product didn't work for me.

I have oily skin and I never would've worn a moisturizer so what's the point? Well, that's what I thought up until about a year ago, that's when I really started getting into make-up and since I don't really use primers due to the dimethicone, I make sure to use a moisturizer. The big plus for me is that ambi moisturizer contains spf 30 and I'm really excited about that. This moisturizer is a great base for my make up and I only use a little concealer around my eyes and a little loose powder, with the moisturizer everything goes on so smooth and nothing looks too cakey it's great! I also use a moisturizer around my eyes as a base for my eye shadow, but I wouldn't recommend putting this product to close to your eyes or directly in your eyes because it will sting. When I put on this moisturizer my skin looks nourished and supple. Try to apply the moisturizer evenly and not to heavily. Women of color may have an issue with the creamy white tint that will take forever to blend in if applied to heavily.
