Pros

    a million categories, used media are is good, Competative prices, Cart saves products to purchase, Great Customer Service, able to buy used--eBay competitor, tons of inventory, free shipping on some items, one stop shopping for some

Cons
    check marketplace sellers carefully, 800#s to contact is burried, shipping can be wicked high, hard to find CS phone number

Amazon.com is one of the best websites for purchasing books.  Its synopsis' and book reviews are helpful tools.  Customer reviews are also encouraged.  Selection of books are just about the best you'll find.  Alternative sellers are allowed to compete with Amazon for your business.  Available are new and used books of the same title at competitive prices.  Some collectibles may be found here. 

Check feedback provided before purchasing from an alternative seller.  Amazon's A-Z warranty is provided for these purchases.
