Amazing Grace —
Amazing Grace tells the story of an extraordinary man who follows his convictions despite many setbacks and a physical disability. It's a story about standing up for what you believe. A dynamic politician, William Wilberforce worked for over 15 years to have the slave trade outlawed in England. Along the way, he had many doubts about what he should do with his life, and he found inspiration in a group of abolitionists (& colorful characters in their own right) who also worked tirelessly for the cause. One of Wilberforce's mentors was a former slave ship captain turned monk, who wrote the hymn "Amazing Grace" - hence the movie's title. One of the movie's producers was Patricia Heaton of "Everybody Loves Raymond" fame. It's very well done - informative, interesting, and inspiring.Last edited on Jan 28, 2008
