We have this refrigerator in my office building. This is my first experience with a bottom freezer refrigerator unit. It is really nice to have everything in the fridge at eye level. The shelves are all completely movable and adjustable, which is nice for customization. However, the freezer is the worst part. You have to bend over so low, and this unit just has a big basket at the bottom, no shelves, etc. to help you organize. There is a light in the freezer, which is nice, but for the most part the freezer is terrible for ease of use. I have a Whirlpool side-by-side at home, and with that kind, you get the best of both worlds-everything is at eye level.

We bought our Amana Easy Reach Refrigerator when we bought our house a little over two years ago and it is holding up wonderfully. The top shelf is a bit hard for me to reach stuff because I'm just so short, but my tall boyfriend loves that he never has to bend down to reach anything anymore. I love how roomy it is. I can store quite a few gallons of milk, a pitcher of juice, and a bottle or two of soda all at the same time and still have alot of room left thanks to the wide door storage. We do wish that the freezer drawer pulled out further and that the freezer was a little bigger, though, although I think that could make it even taller which would not be so good for the shorties of the world like me. This refrigerator can be a bit noisy at times and sometimes the door is a little hard to pull open if you have just been in the freezer. For some reason it is like it causes some kind of weird vacuum seal to the refrigerator door, but it is only temporary and not that bad. I would definitely recommend this refrigerator to anyone. The huge space makes any cons totally disappear. Great storage. Absolutely love it.

I absolutely love this Amana Refridgerator. This is the best refridgerator we've ever bought. I love the Freezer on the bottom because we are in the freezer area much less frequently. It has temperature controls that are very easy to adjust. Also has drawers with humidity adjustments for fruits and vegetables. There is one downfall to the refridgerature on the bottom is when you have little ones they can't reach very well but that only is a problem for a few years. There is lots of room in the door area. It will fit gallons of milk in the door. The door shelves and the upper shelves in the refridgerator are adjustable which is very nice so that I can customize my refridgerator based on my needs. In ours we opted for the pop rack. Some of the shelves including the pop rack slide out which is very convenient.

Our last refridge completely died one day, and my husband was thrilled to be able to replace that old clunker with a new model. We have a private well with water we cannot drink, so having a water dispenser was a waste of space. We looked for a model with a freezer on the bottom thinking it would give us more room than our side by side. I have to say, I've never really had thoughts good or bad about the refridge in our home, but I do not love this one. The top door for whatever reason, likes to open. On its own. If the butter dish is left in the up mode, the door barely closes and you need to shut the butter dish. Anything slightly touching the door when it closes will cause there to be a poor seal when you shut the door. For whatever reason, there is often water coming from underneath the unit. My husband just today had to chip away about 1" of ice from the bottom of the freezer. The freezer drawers are hard to pull out, especially the top freezer drawer, and I think there is actually much less room than a side by side for freezer items. It's deceiving. All in all, we are biding our time until this one gives out on us.

We've owned our Amana Easy Reach Bottom Freezer Refrigerator for about a year and half. My husband was able to purchase us a used one at an auction. I had been wanting a bottom freezer refrigerator for awhile, as I liked being able to have easy access to items in my freezer and more space available in my freezer. Some positive things I like about the Amana Easy Reach Bottom Refrigerator are the convience of having all my refrigerated items at eye level view. I liked not having to bend down to reach certain items or having a narrow space to organize them. The pull out deli tray and drawers for fruits and vegetables on the bottom provides a lot of space for storing items. I liked how spacious the shelves are for putting casserole dishes or other lengthy items on them. My husband really enjoyed having a pull-out rack for his sodas to be organized on. The freezer was very spacious and easy to access compared to a normal refrigerator's freezer. I felt like I could easily organize the items in the pull-out shelving provided and fit more items in my freezer than my old one. I liked how the top shelf of the freezer pulls out when needed. A few negatives about the Amana Easy Reach Bottom Refrigerator are how easy the freezer is able to be pulled open by my toddler. I thought having the refrigerator on top would keep him out, but now my toddler has discovered how to pull open the freezer. The refrigerator section is nice, but instead of a one door opening I would have prefered the two door opening. I do understand that the space is limited with a two-door compared to a one-door but when a one-door is open it pretty much blocks that whole side of the refrigerator. I also agree with another poster that the refrigerator does start to make a strange humming noise. I began to notice this a few days after we plugged in our refrigerator. Thankfully the noise doesn't last all day, but when it does hum it can be rather loud and make a 'knocking' noise. We got our refrigerator for a good price so I can't complain too much. In conclusion, I give the Amana Easy Reach Bottom Refrigerator three stars. It is a nice refrigerator and has met our families needs and gives us added conviences we would otherwise not have with a normal refrigerator.

When we purchased our home the Amana refrigerator that was in the house was included in the purchase.  At that time, I had never owned a freezer on the bottom appliance, and I was intrigued by it, and liked that the most used portion was on top and the freezer was on the bottom.  Since then, I have had spinal surgeries and I find it very difficult and painful to get things out of the freezer.  The appliance itself is good; there's sufficient space in both the upper and lower portions of the appliance and the energy efficiency is good.  However, the freezer on the bottom has become a problem for me. Before my spinal injuries, I would have recommended this appliance to others. Now that I am unable to bend over or squat to remove frozen items, I would not purchase this particular appliance.  I would now recommend a side-by-side appliance.  In the past, I never considered health problems that could present themselves in the future when I purchased an appliance.  Now that I am getting older, I find that most purchases require a lot of thought.

We bought our Amana Fridge 4 years ago - before the birth of our first son.  We thought that we would spend the extra money on this beautiful stainless steel fridge!  And, we loved it from day one.  My husband, who is over 6 ft. tall, loves the easy reach.  Finally, he doesn't have to bend to see what we have to eat.  I love the bottom freezer and I feel like I can definitely see all that we have in the freezer. So, for years, we did not regret our decision at all....that was until about a year ago, our 3 year old fridge started to make a strange noise. The compressor seemed to be going - after only a few years!  We were so upset.  We called Amana and they told us that because we didn't buy the extended warranty, we couldn't get it replaced by them.  A search on the web showed other Amana Fridge bottom freezer owners who had the same problem.  Some people claimed that the design of the Fridge made the compressor overheat more easily and thus they were burning out more quickly. After hearing the bad news, I went on a search for a new fridge.  I really couldn't find one that I liked more than the Amana....I realized then how much I loved our fridge and how much I didn't want to spend thousands on another fridge. In the end, we did get Amana to pay for the compressor.  So, we are back to lving our fridge.  WIsh us luck that it is with us for many more years!

I've had my Amana Easy Reach refrigerator for several years.  Prior to this style, I had a side by side which i thought I loved until I got the easy reach.  I like have the freezer on the bottom because it seems to give the refrigerator section more room.  It is easy to clean and nothing goes missing.  The shelves pull out easy for cleaning in the sink as well as the storage drawers.  The space on the doors are large enough to hold a gallon of milk or OJ.  The shelves are easy to pull out and throw in the sink for cleaning.  I love the fact that there are no iron rack, just glass shelves. However, the only one thing I have diffculty with is the cold cut drawer.  Because this sit rights up the freezer, cold cuts and cheese seem to freeze.  I purchased a mat to place on the bottom of the drawer and that seems to do the trick.  What I like about the freezer is that there is a pull out slidding rack on the top.  This holds all my smaller items that would tend to get lost in a big freezer.  It's large enough to hold enough food for a family of four.  Freezer items are used more frequently now because when I open the freezer, I can see everything that is in it.  Therefore, I find myself saving money because I'm not throwing out freezer burned items.

I love this fridge. Going with the larger one is the best thing I've done. I like the large spot on the door that can store 2 gallons of milk plus a pitcher of tea. The bottom freezer is great, too.  It's much easier to find stuff! I decided against the stainless steal even though it is the IN thing because I have little kids and don't have time to deal with the finger prints. Plus the kids art work (magnets) won't stick to the front of the stainless steal!  The fridge door does have a seal on it. If you shut the door and try to open it again right away, you have to pull really hard to break that seal. IN fact, the handle started to come off once and we had to screw it back on. That is the only negative I have found so far and I've had the fridge for a couple months.

My new Amana refrigerator looks very sharp in my  remodeled kitchen.  I particularly like the roomy vegetable and fruit bins.  The freezor on the bottom is so nice.  I opted not to have the ice and water located on the outside of the door because I have  had that before on my old fridge and had a  hard time keeping it clean.  To my liking instead is a filtered water dispensor inside the refrigerator which is very nice to have available whenever a nice cold drink of water is desired.  The ice bin located in the bottom freezer makes much more room in the refrigerator itself for storage.  There is a huge meat and cheese drawer running from end to end at the base of the storage part of the fridge just above the freezer.  I have room for all my lunch meat, cheese and more in that drawer.  That is one of the things I like most about my Amana Refrigerator.
