I was very unimpressed by this AmLactin Ultra Hydrating Body Cream. I occasionally get small red bumps on my upper arms and legs (Keratosis Pilaris) and read in a fitness magazine that AmLactin was a lotion recommended by dermatologists for this skin condition. The price is reasonable for a lotion of this kind. I followed the directions on tube to use twice a day. I rubbed the lotion into my upper arms and onto my feet in the morning when I woke up and in the evening before bed. I thought I would test it out on my arms to see how much it would improve my skin's condition before using it on the rest of my body. I also have very dry feet, so I was looking forward to seeing how it would perform as a moisturizer on my dry heels. The first time I used it, I noticed it had a very strong scent. I would describe the scent as sweet and smelling of medicine. It was definitely a thick body cream and not a light lotion. It was tough to rub it in completely and it did not absorb quickly at all. When I put on a tee shirt, the skin on my arms was sticking to the sleeves because of this sticky body cream. I continued to use the product twice a day for a week because I really hoped it would clear up my Keratosis Pilaris. Even with regular use after one week, I still could not stand the smell. I felt uncomfortable going out in public smelling like I did. After reading the list of ingredients, I believe it is the uric acid that contributes to the awful odor. I stopped using this AmLactin because I did not see any improvement to my skin and because of the odor.

Excellent lotion for extremely dry skin. I began using this lotion recently after my skin became dryer. The lotion is very thick . It rubs into the skin very easily. The lotion is not greasy , but it does take a little longer to soak in. The scent is very mild , not overpowering. I am very sensitive to scents so this is very important to me. I was very impressed with the moisturizing I received from this lotion. The moisturizing effect lasted all day. I was very impressed after a few days at how much softer my skin felt. Scent This lotion has a very mild scent. I was pleasantly surprised by this. I am very sensitive to scents, Absorption This lotion is very thick so it does take a little longer to absorb, It did not leave a greasy feel after it absorbed into the skin. Effectiveness Very impressed with the lotion and how it moisturized my dry skin. All day moisturizing effect . I noticed softer skin within a few days of regular use.

I have very sensitive skin and was very glad to find this body cream. I had excellent results after just the first use. I was very glad when my sensitive skin and troubled dry patches were relieved and after only one use. Scent I am very sensitive to a lot of highly perfumed products but this one did not bother me. The scent was not the greatest but was thankfully lighter and didn't linger behind on my skin for very long after applying it. Absorption I like this product because it is highly concentrated and it still absorbs quickly and deeply into my skin so it helps work all day. Effectiveness I have to pay a little more for this product but when my troubled areas like my dry cracking heels and hands in the winter I needed a product I could count on to help get my skin under control. I definitely have all the benefits of healed moisturized skin with using this lotion and with no greasy residue left behind.

I received a travel size sample of Amlactin body cream from their Facebook promotion. I have dry skin so I was eagerly waiting to use it. The consistency of the body cream is very thick so it takes time to absorb. After applying the cream on my hands it felt sticky and waxy but gradually the sticky sensation went away. The body cream is too thick for my choice to apply on body so I apply them on my cracked heel and it is helping to repair the cracks from my heel. I apply it twice a day and already there are fewer cracks on my heels. Scent The body cream is fragrance free so it smells like any other medicated lotion. I really don't like the smell. Personally I would prefer it there would be a sweet smell in it. Absorption It takes a lot of rubbing to make it absorb in the skin. Effectiveness It is effective for dry skin. If feeling sticky is not a problem then the Amlactin body cream is a good solution for very dry skin.

I bought this with high expectation because it is a premium brand and I had heard good things about it before. However, I didn't really find this any better than any of the dozens of other run of the mill brands that are available for much less money. I really did not like the scent of this and it didn't absorb all that well.

I had seen a lot of buzz about AmLactin lotion on Facebook and a couple of beauty sites. My legs have become very troublesome this winter with the dry air and shaving. I developed red bumps all over and I was looking for an alpha hydroxyl lotion to help. I saw that this lotion received some good reviews and purchased it. Combined with sloughing gloves, this lotion did alleviate the red bumps. I have also been using this on my elbows which have become flaky. Great for that too. There is a slight bit of redness if you use it too much so I usually skip a day in between applications. Scent Most alpha hydroxyl lotions have a medicinal scent to them. This one certainly does. Again, I would not say its pungent, its just stronger than I usually care for in a body lotion. Absorption This is a great selling point for this lotion. Immediately enters your skin after just a few rubs. Dries well and leaves no stickiness behind. Effectiveness Combined with sloughing gloves this cream completely eradicated the dry red bumps on my legs. Made my elbows less flaky as well!

Amlactin's Ultra Triple Action Alpha-Hydroxy Therapy Hydrating Body Cream works miracles. This body cream is great for any and all parts of your body. It doesn't have any scent to it so you can use it with perfumes or body sprays but this cream seems to help your dry or cracked skin immediately upon applying it to your skin. There isn't any greasy or tacky feeling and I can immediately touch things without leaving spots behind right after an application. I really like this cream. It is a dense cream but spreads on very easily. Scent I am rating the scent of this cream very high as there isn't any scent at all therefore it allows you to use other scents such as perfumes or body lotions if you desire to. Absorption It absorbs immediately into your skin without having to rub it in very long. Effectiveness Immediately upon application, this cream has stopped me from scratching my severe dry skin areas such as my shins and also the sides of my fingers and thumbs. After the application, I can't feel any rough areas of dry skin. Very, very good.

My title really says it all. My skin, in the best of circumstances is very dry and I do my best to keep my skin moisturized with various products. I have eczema in several areas that are almost painful and peeling despite lotions and keeping them covered. This winter is already starting to be a nightmare. As soon as my building turned on the heaters (which I have no control over) my skin dried up and I feel like I am surrounded by itchy wool. Nothing I wear relieves the scratchy feeling and my skin has scars on it from scratching in my sleep. I was offered a free sample of this cream and tried it out, hoping for the best. All my normal creams only helps for a little while. I took a shower, applied. Within minutes, my itching went from severe to mild and after a few hours, nonexistent. Today, for example, I put on the cream this morning and it is evening and I haven't needed to reapply and I have not had one iota of itching. My skin feels soft and the areas that were peeling have softened. This is day 3 of using it and those areas have also started to smoothe out. I have recommended it to a few of my friends already and remembered Viewpoints and decided to come here and tell of my experience. Already found a local store that sells it and I will be stocking up for the winter! Oh, another important part, there is no scent! Much of my skin sensitivities is from my allergy issues and this is a MAJOR plus! Scent The fact that there is no scent is very important. Fragrances would make me breakout in hives. I would recommend this for anyone with even rough skin. I used it for about a month on my feet and all of those cracks and dry rough skin went away, and stayed away even after I stopped using it. Only after months of not using it has my feet started to dry out again. A little goes a long way on this.

I really like this lotion, and I usually mix it with another brand that I use frequently. This a nice, thin lotion, that for some people may need to be mixed with a thicker lotion. I have keratosis pilaris (chicken skin), and this helps. I would recommend this to anybody that has sensitive skin, or is having a frequent rash, or another medical condition. I would also recommend this to the person looking for a good, everyday lotion. This is a quality lotion that is really not that high. Scent It really has no scent at all, which is very good for people who have sensitive skin. Absorption It has a very thin, smooth texture which falls right through your hands. Mix with a thicker lotion for even better absorption. Effectiveness This has done well for my skin. It can be thin, and hard to get to stay on you skin, but other than this, I have no complaints. I would recommend to any skin type. It will not get oily skin even oilier, and will help the dry skin-ed folks out there. No irritation, or redness. Always be sure to clear any over-the-counter products with your dermatologist, or regular doctor.
