An Okay movie, not a hit with our family.
an infrequent movie goer, watching with kids, a kid at heart, twenty something, budget conscious, interested in fun for kids

We don't tend to go to the movies much, instead we wait for the video at the rental store. But I really wanted to see Alvin and the Chimpmunks and so did the kids and that doesn't happen too often. Let me just say that our theater only cost $1 even for new movies so for the money I paid it was a good film, had I paid $5-6 a ticket, I would probably have been less impressed.
I cannot believe the movie was rated G because of some of the language and adult jokes, but it was mainly over the kids heads at least. But overall I don't think it connected to the cartoons at all. Other than the Christmas Song. This is definitely a mediocre movie at best and one that I recommend waiting for the video.
