VS2621 - Outstanding for its price
I'm not a HiFi fanboy, but I can't stand the poor speaker of my laptop either. So I was in the market hunting for some cheap but solid PC speaker. Altec Lansing has lower prices than Logitech, and I know clearly that for plastic speaker at this price range, it's not worth extra bucks for a little more fancy and well-branded product. So I bought a set of VS2621 on Black Friday. It's not at the bottom of Altec Lansing 2.1 speaker line though. Basically it's worth the money. Relatively good sound quality, powerful subwoofer, small but nice satellite units. Pros: Cheap. Almost cheapest 2.1 speaker in the market. You can fine some cheaper one, but the brand might never be heard of. Good sound quality. You get what you pay for. So don't expect some HiFi or home theater level sound from it, but it surely beats built-in speakers (my laptop and LCD TV). Small size. Satellite units are around the size of a mark cup, and subwoofer smaller than an shoe box. But it has pretty nice output power. Enough for your shelf or small living room. I'm currently connecting it to my LCD TV, surely an upgrade to built-in speaker. Cons: Just so so build quality. The satellite units looks like cheap device. And the subwoofer cover feels like paper. Bad design of power switch. It's on the subwoofer, not satellite speaker (like Logitch z523), so very inconvenient if placed on the ground.
