Altec Lansing - Computer Speakers Review

I just bought the Altec Lansing computer speakers with a subwoofer and they have some very nice features that make listening to my computer very easy.

First, there is the power button on the front of the speakers. That might not sound like much but the speakers I had before were on the back of the right speaker. This speaker and the one I have now is in a tight space so I would have to pull the speaker out and then turn it on. Now all I have to do is push the button when I want the speaker on.

Second, There is a bass control on it so I can alter the bass to what I want to hear. The system also has a subwoofer so the bass control actuall does something. When I want to hear that gun blast from doom it sounds cool.

Third and most important it has a plug for headphones right on the side of the main speaker. Do you have someone else that is near you when you listen or play on the computer? When I am playing a first person shooter game my wife does not like to hear BLAM BLAM BLAM all the time when she is trying to concetrate on something. Before I had to unplug the speaker systemon the back of the computer and then plug my headphones in. This caused two problems. One, I would have just enough length to my headphones that I could see the screen but if I turned my head the headphones would pull out. Two, I would have to pull my computer out to plug the headphones in and would always unplug something else.

All in all a very good system
