Cameron Crowe's 2000 film Almost Famous is quite probably my favorite movie of all time.  I say quite probably because there are times where Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Blues Brothers, and Stalag 17 could all lay a claim to that title.

Almost Famous is based on Crowe's experiences writing for Rolling Stone magazine as a teenager, and much of the film is specifically based on his going out on tour with the Allman Brothers Band.  In the movie, Crowe's character is named William Miller (Patrick Fugit), who is turned onto the rock and roll of the 60s and 70s by his older sister (played by...

Almost famous is a fantastic movie about coming of age in a bygone era.  Cameron Crowe wrote and directed this semi-autobiographical masterpiece based on his own experiences as a teenage writer for Rolling Stone magazine. 

It is a testament to the man's talent that he was a professional journalist at such an early age and has continued on to make some of our greatest films.
