Almost famous is a fantastic movie about coming of age in a bygone era. Cameron Crowe wrote and directed this semi-autobiographical masterpiece based on his own experiences as a teenage writer for Rolling Stone magazine.
It is a testament to the man's talent that he was a professional journalist at such an early age and has continued on to make some of our greatest films.
The story begins with a young kid who's been assigned to cover a fictional rock band of the late 60's, early 70's. He writes what happens on the road with the band, much to their chagrin, and makes friends with a lot of the groupies and roadies along the way.
