I discovered this cream after receiving a sample in the mail and I was very hesitant to try it. My first thought was that it would clog my pores, seeing as it's very thick. I have been an acne sufferer for years so that's the last thing I would want. The current foundation I was using happened to be the only one that didn't break me out, but it had horrible coverage so I had to find something new! In a desperate attempt I decided to try the CC cream one day and I instantly fell in love. It's not heavy so my skin feels like there isn't even anything on it, and when powder is added on top of it there's a nice cooling effect. I have been using this cream as foundation for about a week and I am very pleased so far. My skin hasn't broken out, and my scars from previous acne flare ups are even fading! I can't seem to find my right shade, the lightest shade is still somewhat dark on me but it's something I can live with if it means great coverage! I have never felt more confident. Before, by noon my old foundation would be cakey, dripping off and barely there because I tend to sweat during warm weather. I'd have to reapply it 3-4 times a day. With this cc cream, I can go the whole day without even worrying about having to look in a mirror because i'm confident that it hasn't melted off! I can't say that about any other makeup product i've ever tried. I have recommended this product to friends and they thanked me for it! Absorption It absorbs fast so I don't have to wait long to apply my powder Doesn't Clog Pores This was a big deal for me as i'm already suffering from acne and clogged pores. My skin can breathe with this product, and It doesn't even feel like i'm wearing anything! Effectiveness Coverage is amazing, it's evening my skin tone and fading scars. I have been suffering from horrible brown discolorations above my upper lip and on my forehead. While I am trying to treat the spots with various creams at night, during the day I wanted to find a concealing product that would treat them while helping to improve my skin tone. This makeup immediately caught my eye when I saw the advertisements in several beauty magazines. I was very pleased with this makeup on both counts. Normal concealers would cake along my upper lip and then simply disappear and I felt that the brown spots were not being treated, merely covered up. With this, I felt that in some small way I was helping the spots to disappear while effectively covering them up. I loved that this lightweight formula stayed put above my lip, even while eating yet, it did not cake. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who needs to cover-up and treat their brown spots. Absorption This stays on the skin so nicely. I had no feathering or caking. It stays on for hours above my lip even after I have eaten or a day of talking and teaching. Doesn't Clog Pores Because of the heaviness of the nighttime products I use to treat my melasmas, I needed a lightweight concealer that would not clog my pores. This is a perfect formula. Strong enough o stay put but does not clog the pores. Also, it wiped off completely at night so I would have a clean area to treat with my other lightening products. Effectiveness Until I can find that one product that will erase my brown spots, I will continue to use this as a great concealer.

Right after I purchased my first tube of BB cream then they came out with CC creams! Needless to say my BB cream got used a few times before I switched to Almay smart shade CC cream and am very pleased with it! I don't typically like using heavy makeup products on a daily basis so this CC cream is great because it feels really lightweight on my skin but still covers the minor discoloration and blemishes that I do have. It absorbs very well and stays in place all day without me needing to reapply. It makes my skin slightly oily by the end of the day but I use a lightweight powder along with this CC cream to absorb the oil and I use an all over face primer so it doesn't settle into my face creases by the end of the day. I love how this CC cream also moisturized my skin while it covers which saves me a lot of time and effort. I would highly recommend this CC cream, Almay smart shade is one of the best I have tried!

I was looking for my normal CG smoothers foundation and couldn't find it. After trying something else and not liking it, I tried this. I had seen a commercial for Almay Smart shade and it looked intriguing. It's supposed to match your skin tone. I thought "yeah right". Well, you squeeze it out and it's gray but as you spread it across your face to blend it in, it matches your skin tone. It feels good on your face. It blends really easily and gives you a really nice look. My skin is really pale. I couldn't believe how well this product matched my skin. It made it look flawless. The only thing about it is it didn't really feel right under my eyes. It felt a little too thick. I really like how it covers the pink spots on my cheeks. It makes them disappear. It feels good all day and allows your skin to breathe. It even covers some freckles that I have on my face. My blush goes on smoothly on top of it. It makes your face look dewy and really nice. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

It's very pricey and as far as being an anti aging product, it doesn't do that. I thought it was a make up that helped your skin over the long term, but that's not what it is. It's a concealer with sunscreen in it. It's winter time and I'm almost never outside when it is sunny so it would be useful for the summertime when your outdoors more. Did I mention that it makes me break out like crazy? If you have acne prone skin, stay away and just use regular sunscreen and a more hypo allergenic concealer.
