Almay Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Lotion —

I have been using Almay Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Lotion for awhile now and I'll be trying something else in the near future.

It easily moves waterproof mascara, including brands other than Almay. There is no fragrance. It leaves my skin soft. It's hypo-allergenic. It hasn't caused any breakouts after using it on my sensitive skin. it leaves my skin soft. Those are the  reasons I give it three stars. So those things  support their Almay Hypo-allergenic Standard.

Now for the reasons I will be trying something else (once I choose another product). It hasn't caused any breakouts. I'm surprised because it leaves a residue that I have to tissue off. Most of the ingredients say "oil" so that's why it feels mor like oil than a lotion. I'm often surprized that I never got any in my eyes. If my skin is going to be softened I truly prefer a non-oily product . Perhaps their non-oily pads.

Another reason I'm considering no longer using it is they never got back to me with a question I called them with. I asked if they had ever tested this product on animals. No email, no call, nothing. I am curious about this.

Anyway it's not easy finding eye makeup removers for people with sensitive skin or allergies.

Almay needs to rethink their standard, include more natural ingredients, and relabel this item.

Thanks! Which ones do you use?

Nice review! I use those daily facial cloths to remove makeup. I think they work better than anything else.

Thanks very much for the info, Jo. I'm investigating and just may end up writing a hopefully interesting piece about Almay in the near future. I like what you found about Lush. I'll look them up.

I found this 7)
Does Almay® test on animals?
"No. Almay® relies on the judgment of pharmacological, toxicological and medical experts. We use non-animal alternative test methods as well as the safety histories of formulations and ingredients to determine product safety." Having read that and preferring products not testing on animals including both the ingredients AND the final product I think this statement is gobbeldy gook! No wonder you couldn't get an answer. I believe if you look at an Almay product you won't see that it says not tested on animals in any form. I have never used Lush but I have been told they are the BEST company. They don't even do business with companies who test. Jo
