It almay :)

Used as a base (for colored mascara) or alone, this mascara separates my lashes great (no clumps), stays on all night at work, lasts through tears, and doesn't flake. Perhaps I was fortunate to get a good bottle (in brown - even tough I have brown eyes) that worked well with my lashes by the sounds of the other reviews. As far as "light interplay" ... ummm yeah, I'm not really certain what that truly means in reality as far as mascara goes, but it doesnt have magical powers or reflectors in it to make it anything other than a matte mascara lol.

I love Almay intense I-color thickening mascara!

5

I purchased the purple amethyst Eyeliner and Mascara about a month ago and have fallen in love with it.  I usually have allergies to eyeliner and mascara, but this product has caused no irritations at all and it works exactly like it says that it will.  My eyes are a hazel brown and the purple amethyst intense i-color brand really makes the color of my eyes pop.  I love it.  The wand on the mascara also works great on my eyelashes and it takes less swipes and product than other products that I have used.  I also like how easy this product is to remove and it does not smudge throughout the day.  I know that it may cost a little more than some other brands, but when it comes to my eyes, I am willing to pay the price so that I do not have to worry about itchy watery eyes from using a brand that causes irritation.  This brand does not do that and it improves the look of my eyes.  I am very happy with it and will continue to purchase this product!

Best mascara for short/thin lashes!

5

I have tiny lashes and this product not only lengthens but adds volume. Dries quickly and doesn't cake on. Separates nicely and the thicker formula is easy to build if you like to put on more than one coat. I will never be switching to anything else. :) Luv this product!!!! Performance Does what it promises~~

what is brown topaz?

Well, I admit it, I fell for the whole "intense i-color" thing.  I bought the liner, the mascara and the shadow in the belief of the hype. The eye shadows were the only product of the trio that was worth the trip to Walmart.  Almay intense i-color thickening mascara in neither intense nor thickening. It is, in fact, brown and thin. The wand is not a brush, it is an applicator with little spikes. When pulling the wand out, the spikes are heavy with mascara and not evenly coated. There is no way to get the wand evenly coated, i scraped it on a tissue in an attempt to get the globs off. When i applied it, it went on way too thick and wet! My eyelashes stuck together and dots of mascara decorated my upper eye lids. Not the "intense" look i was hoping for. Almay intense-i color is the worst mascara I have ever tried. It took forever to dry. And it left an under eye shadow by the end of the day.  And what is with the name brown topaz? This mascara is a medium brown. One thing is true about this Almay mascara, my blue eyes did more attention when I wore this. Because I looked like a crazy lady who had applied her makeup in the dark on roller skates. Do not waste your money!

Almay Intense I-Color Mascara Raisin Quartz disappointed me.

2

***Quick View:*** I don't have green eyes, I have brown. But I love purple mascara and the right purple really makes my brown eyes pop. I decided to try this mascara because it was on sale and it claimed to give users 300% fuller lashes. Obviously I didn't believe it could do THAT but I hoped it could give me length and volume. It gave me some length but zero volume. ***My take on Almay Intense I-Color Mascara Raisin Quartz*** This mascara is supposed to be a thickening one. It has a long, short-bristled brush that does get at every lash. The color is much less purple and more red/maroon which is not a shade I like but I still wanted to try it. The mascara sweeps on well and I saw no clumps. But even after several coats, the length was just OK and the volume was nowhere. The mascara didn't add any volume whatsoever. Worse,** Almay Intense I-Color Mascara Raisin Quartz** flakes and when it does, it looks like little bruises around my eyes due to the color. It runs in the heat too! The length I got was decent after several coats and I really didn't see many clumps. The color isn't one I would get again but I would (and may) use it on the tips of my lashes for a cool effect. I suppose the shade may make green eyes pop. It didn't flatter my brown eyes like a true purple or eggplant shade. But I would have bought the black shade had I liked the way this mascara worked but I don't. It doesn't do enough and there are so many other mascaras that do! ***My Viewpoint*** **Almay Intense I-Color Mascara Raisin Quartz** is unique in color. But as a mascara, it is sub-par. It does add some length to lashes but there is no volume. Without volume, lashes look spidery and skimpy. The product flakes pretty quickly after application and will run in humidity or if you sweat. I was disappointed. 300% fuller lashes. NOT! ***2 stars.***

Fun variation for a natural look

Though this mascara isn't what I expected, I really quite like it. I thought it would be dramatic and obviously blue, but it doesn't thicken or lengthen my lashes much and the blue is so subtle that no one notices. Instead, my eyes just look bluer. I wouldn't recommend it when you're going for a dramatic look; but for a natural day look, it's a fun variation.

The Almay Intense i-color Mascara makes your eyes look great!

4

I purchased Almay Intense i-color Mascara after reading about it in a magazine.  I had heard of the brand and the line before, but was intrigued to try it out after the magazine said it would help highlight my light brown eyes.  I decided to try the mascara in Purple Amethyst because I have always wanted to show off my eye color - I think that my eyes are one of my best features, as the color runs quite rare in my family.   I was afraid that the product would be shockingly bright purple and that I would end up looking like a drag queen, but I was pleasantly surprised at how subtle the mascara looks on.  You can tell that the color is purple when you look at it on the wand, but you wouldn't be able to tell that it was when the mascara is on.  I do have dark brown eyelashes though, so the results may look different on those with lighter brown eyelashes.   Now, does the mascara really highlight my eye color? The result may just be a placebo, but I did feel that my eyes looked more noticeable and my eyes did look more translucent brown.  I also liked that the mascara seemed to curl and lengthen my lashes (it claims to lengthen your lashes up to 300%), and also did not smudge or run throughout my workday.  The wand may freak some people out initially since it is a plastic wand, but I actually really liked how easily I was able to get the brush to separate some of my smaller lashes.  The only con I can think of is that you have to be careful that your eyes don't look pink after applying it (I get red eyes very easily when I'm tired), so just use eyedrops throughout the day if you find the mascara casting a pink shadow in your eyes.  I'd recommend this mascara to any brown-eyed girl looking for an alternative to the standard black mascara.

Okay Mascara

When I first tried the Almay Intense I-Color Mascara in brown topaz I loved, loved it with blue eyes. The color was great and it really brought out the blue. The mascara seemed to go on smooth without too much clumping and I was very happy with the product. I used it quite a bit for daily use becuase I thought the color of the mascara was so flattering. However, after using it for a while I noticed the brush seemed to clump up with mascara much more than other mascaras I have used, making it hard to neatly apply the makeup. I tried wiping the brush off but that didn't help, I think it may have been the actually make up more than the brush. I don't know if it got a bit dried out or what, it isn't like I left the top off except when I used it. So I was happy with the mascara in the beginning but it didn't seem to last long and I haven't bought it since. It is a  little pricey and I was okay with it at first.

Good at first but clumps

3

I love the mascara at first and thought it did wonders but after you have had the it for a little bit the brush starts to get clumps on it. After it does this it is hard to get the mascara to go on smoothly and it is just a chore to work with. I don't wear mascara everyday, only on special occasions so it you use it at a faster pace this may not be as much of a problem.

Almay draws out eye color AND boosts lashes

5

I don't have much time for make-up in the morning so it's very important that the few things I do use, like mascara, do the most they can while staying in my budget. I used this after trying another brand of eye color enhancing products and I think this one is a much better value because it offers a black and a brown mascara for your eye color which extends and thickens lashes as much as regular mascara. The brush is great because it has shorter, rubber bristles that don't let the mascara clump on the bristles or on your lashes. It also adds to your ability to extend lashes with an easily controlled brush. Some of the colors would seem to be the same as regular mascara (a simple brown, a regular black) but there are reflective specs which are supposed to bring out specific eye color and it isn't at all an expensive product compared to all over mascara brands and types that are out there. I would definitely recommend this mascara as it is effective, versatile, and affordable.
