If you do, then one company to consider is Allstate Insurance, a company that has been satisfying customers for many years. Allstate offers good rates, multi- policy discounts, and quick accurate claims service in the minds of most reviewers. Allstate offers the “Best Insurance for the Best Price” according to some, but there are some Allstate Pessimists who make comments like “Unforgiving…Forgot a Payment Date and Would Not Renew”. My husband and I had been Allstate customers for about 15 years. When we first got married they had the best rates and we just stuck with them through the years. Every so often, I would check rates and they either couldn't be beat or was so close that is wasn't worth the bother to switch.

We went with AllState after moving to Florida.  The agent offered me a decent rate and her office was convenient to my home.  I was satisfied.  After all, All State is a reputable company, right??

Wrong!  After six months, the agent called to inform me that the automobile rates were going to triple.  We had filed no claims.  She said they were changing the subsidiary of All State that wrote coverage in this area.

Sorry.  That was enough to turn me off completely.  Even though my own brother is an All State Agent, I would never give my business to them again.

I signed up for a term life policy 4 years ago that was supposed to be switched to a "whole life" policy after the first year. The way it was explained to me (because I didn't even want to sign up for the term because it was too expensive - $1200) was that after the first year I could switch to the whole life policy which cost $5000 and get a credit for the $1200 for the first year which is what I did. Details and Support of my Review
PROS: multi-car discounts, long-term customer discounts, good driver discounts, safety features discounts, some (not all) claims are easy.

CONS: HIGH COST, Agents are not on the ball, rude agents, agents that don't care about the customer, company itself doesn't support customer complaints against agent, apparent sexist attitude about drivers, slow to respond to correspondence, auto-payment does not ensure payment of premium, agent doesn't follow up to prevent problems with loss of insurance, gives you the cheapest limits available in your area (yet they don't tell...

Our Allstate agent is the most helpful and friendly person I've dealt with. I never wait to speak with him and he's always responded to my emails promptly. I was shocked when our payments have reduced the last three years in a row and he's always looking out for additional discounts for my family. I've been loyal customer for over 15 years and don't have any plans on changing.

I have been an Allstate customer for over 10 years. I have always thought that because I was a loyal customer I would be getting a better rate than if I was to go to another company. This is the reason I have stayed so long. However, I recently realized that I have been getting taken advantage of from my Allstate agent. I have full coverage on all our cars. 3 out of 4 of our cars are now over 5 years old so the book value is significantly lower than when we bought them. I have had Allstate auto insurance for 17 years. I have never had a problem with them, but I have never had a claim. They are always helpful when I call, but I recently found out I was entitled to a homeowner discount that would save me @$60 a year. This is something I feel should have been caught many years ago.

We've had our cars insured with Allstate for a long time now.  The most recent claim was in 2007 when our sons truck caught fire.  The fire happened on a Saturday.  I called the claim in that day and an adjuster was at our house on Monday.  Everything went smoothly the adjuster explained all details to us and our check came in the mail the following Saturday.  Wow, was our response.  We were quite happy. 
We've had both homeowners and auto with Allstate for 15 years now.  Our rates are competitive and we have no complaints now.

Allstate insurance company has treated me so great over the past several years that even when I hear all the commercials about going online and maybe saving money it does not even interest me.  My agent is so personal and extremely helpful in all areas.  When I needed to begin investing he had someone talk to me to make sure I knew how I wanted to do it.  When the insurance rates changed he notified me right away and got me into the coverage that would fit me the best.  I would highly recommend Allstate to anyone looking for insurance.

We use AllState for our home owner's and vehicle insurance. Because we do this, we get a substantial discount, which is a big help for our budget. Our local AllState agent is available to answer questions at any time, and we have had a very cordial relationship with his staff for the past three years. Any time we need them, they are johnny-on-the-spot. They've gone above and beyond the call of duty to help us out whenever we've had questions or needed to make policy changes. Simply fantastic customer service.

Bottom-Line: Like I stated from the outset, insurance is a necessary evil, but we have always been in good hands with Allstate.

Insurance, it is a necessary evil.  Car, life, accidental death, home, apartment, condo, and health, the list seems never ending but, again necessary in today's ever increasing complex world of life and finance.

Allstate insurance has to be the worst car insurance I have EVER dealt with. My husband and I received an amazing quote and left our insurance company. Then after 3 months of paying the great rate they crank it up 200 extra dollars a month. When I called, they said that my husband's accident was an "at fault" accident. When I called our other insurance company they said it wasn't and that there were no claims on it so they faxed that over to Allstate. Allstate said that wasn't good enough. I had Allstate as both my home and auto insurer for the past 4 years. My agent was pretty friendly and professional and had no problems with them until just the past few months. I had a small fender bender (seriously, it cost just about $1000 to fix the other car). Since my deductible was only $500, I decided to report the accident, thinking that we were both at fault. Not only was it determined that it was 100% my fault, but Allstate decided to double my premiums (which increased $700 for 6 months!!) and said that my rate would go up that much for the next 3 years. I was in an accident where I was not at falt, I turned it into allstate to take care, come to find out the responsible party that we did not think had insurance did indeed have insurance, however it was not allstate that contacted his insurance company to get things worked out, it was ME. Then I was assigned a claims person who was taking care of my claim, I tried over a dozen times to get ahold of her to let her know what I had been doing and get the progress with no luck.
