Allstate Review

When our agent was 'let go' by Farm Bureau after almost 20 years of service to their company, we decided it was time to take our business elsewhere.  He began working for another company that, like Farm Bureau, is able to find the best insurer for one's needs.  All State gave us the best deal on car insurance for my husband, myself and our 16-year-old daughter.  It was quite a bit lower than we were previously paying.  They have an online course that you can complete for a little better rate and online payment as well as setting it up to be deducted automatically from a checking account. 

About six months after beginning our insurance with them, our daughter backed into an SUV in a parking lot.  It barely dented our bumper but caused $1100 damage to the other vehicle.  Had I had $1,000 I woud not have submitted a claim, but times are tight, so I did.  They paid promptly for the other vehicle to be fixed, but then increased our premium by almost $50 monthly.  I asked about their advertised accident forgiveness poilcy and discovered you have to be with the company several years to qualify for that.  I guess this is something we will just have to make it through because it is still cheaper than our old insurance and has more manageable monthly premiums instead of quarterly, plus even though we had been with the over a decade, they only increased our premium every year with no 'bonus' accident forgiveness.
