I honestly do not know how this company stays in business. Their poilcies are overpriced, their agents are rude and disrespectful, and they only compare rates to companies that they know for a fact they can beat.

About a year after we moved to the city we are living in now we decided to shop for car insurance with a local company. The only car insurance carrier in the city, at the time, was Allstate so we decided to visit them. We walked in the door and sat down at one of the open desks, and waited. We waited for about ten minutes before anyone decided to ask us if we needed help. We told them we wanted a quote on their car insurance the woman stated that they would get someone to us in a minute, ten minutes later we were asked the same question by a different person and were told that the guy (we were never given a name nor was there one on the desk) would be back in about five minutes. Needless to say the guy never showed up. We were about to leave when the manager, owner whatever you want to call him showed up and said that he would take care of us, that he was sorry for our wait and that all of the other agents were busy. These people were not busy, they were standing around talking, asking where each other was going to go for lunch, what they were doing that night, things like that. Anyways the owner, manager whoever he was (never got a name) took our information and said that for just our one car (all we had was one at the time) it was going to cost about $1500-for six months. He claimed that this was their price and that it was the lowest that he could find. Yeah right! So we stayed with the agent that we were currently with, and still have 12 years later. She deals with multiple agencies, including Allstate, and she was able to find us a lower priced company (full coverage insurance) for about $1200-a year (do not ask for the company name because I do not remember it and they are no longer serviceing Florida). Five years ago we switched to AIG, with the help of our insurance agent, and for two cars-full coverage, we were paying about $1600 a year. This price included all of the discounts, multiple driver, multiple car, safety features-airbags (driver and passenger), seat belts, etc. If we ever had to contact them for any reason, whether it was through the agent or directly, they have always been very friendly, very curtious people who treated you like a valued customer!

But my husband and I know one thing is for sure, if at all possible, we will never do business with Allstate! Atleast not until their agents decide to treat their potential customers, as a valued potential customers, and a lesson in customer service would help greatly also, atleast where I live at.
