I had used Alli in the past and had lost 20 pounds in three months while on it. I took a break from it for a few months and now I have once again began using it to lose my last 20-30 pounds for good. Alli is an over the counter FDA approved weight loss AIDE. Alli makes me accountable for what I choose to eat. Make sure you read the information in the starter kit before you begin. Lots of helpful information-especially the part where they tell you to begin a low fat diet three days prior to taking Alli to be sure all the fats you had eaten are out of your system or you will get negative side effects! For my stats (weight-wise), I am advised to eat a total of 1600 calories a day and 17 grams of fat per meal. Since I don't eat a big breakfast, I don't take an Alli pill in the morning. Alli mainly works in the digestive tract, so if you eat more than your recommended amount of fat at a meal, you will experience negative side effects, such as oily, loose stools. This can happen unexpectadly. So to keep this from happening, I am always in check of what I eat so I don't have any negative side effects. This isn't a 'quick fix' weight loss drug. It is a lifestyle change with a diet AIDE. You have to exercise and eat right for this to work and once you have lost the weight you want and are able to stick with a healthy eating habit and exercise plan, you shouldn't have to continue to take Alli. The Alli website is a great source of information, tips, recipes and a place to post to other Alli users for support.
