I must say, I have done a lot of time with many diet pillls in my life, but my experience with Alli has been for the most part, a learning experience. I have been overweight most of my life and dieted probably half of the years I've been on this earth. What made me decide to try it one more time was beyond me at this point in my life. But let's face it, no matter what, we humans just keep on trying over and over to ge it right.
I started using Alli one Sunday morning thinking in my mind that would be the best day since it was the beginning of the week and also since I am usually not exposed to junk food as I am during the work week. Also after reading the instructions and talking to others who have tried the product informed that if I eat anything rich and fatting while taking Alli, I would definately regret it. The directions clearly state that if you eat too much fat you will get gas, oily spotting, loose stools, well you get the picture.
So, the first day went well as most diets do when you start one. The excitement of thinking that this time I'm going to ge it right and follow through. This time is going to be the one that cures me. And the first day went well. I followed the directions explicitly, one pill before meals that contained any fat, no more then 3 per day. Well, I had to take 3 because I really wasn't sure how much fat was in what I ate. I knew it wasn't as much as I usuallly ate per day so I did pretty well.
After about a month on Alli, I lost some weight mainly because I was too afraid to eat a lot of fat. Those side effects aren't very pleasent. But I kept forgetting to take my pills with me to work and even if I did remember, I got tired of the hassle of taking a pill before every meal. I'd get busy at work, forget to take the pill before lunch and then it would be too late to take it. I know that sounds like a big excuse and I guess it was. But I'm not a person that sticks to anything for too long. I guess it's just in my nature; I got tired of it.
I know that Alli will work if you have the stamina and willpower to stick with it. And I know there are a lot of people out there that only need to lose 20-25 lbs that I think could stick to it. But any more weight then that to lose and it's just hard to do. I'm just not one of those kind of people unfortunately for me.
