My husband and I have ordered Allen Brothers meat products for years and have loved their Prime beef steaks. We received a call for a special from Allen Brothers last month (first time receiving a solicitation) and got 8 strip steaks, Buy 4 get 4 at 1/2 off. This was not at all the quality of prime meat that we have had in the past. Poor taste, poor quality, uneven cuts of meat and tough! If this is the new prime meat at Allen Brothers we will not be ordering again. So disappointed.

I have been circling Allen Brothers website for quite a while. Just waiting for the perfect time to drop some serious coin on what I hoped would be a delicious steak eating experience. Well, a great offer from Allen Brothers came offering prime steaks AND free lobster tails! I ordered them for Father's Day for my obsessively carnivores husband. The order arrived at our door but it appeared that some the boxes had partially thawed and the seals had been compromised and the steaks and lobster tails had partially thawed. My husband, having recently suffered some pretty heinous food poisoning was not comfortable eating the partially thawed steaks. We called customer service and was promptly told "sorry" we can't replace the partially thawed items". "Don't worry, they'll be fine." Well, needless to say, that was not acceptable. We pressed on and said we did not feel comfortable eating partially thawed meat through the mail. That is when we were transferred to Carol. She was awesome! She spoke to my husband in an attempt to reassure him, however, once she understood his recent food poisoning incident and the level to which the steaks had thawed, she did the perfect thing and sent us new steaks and lobster tails to replace the ones we had to throw away. I applaud Carol's responsiveness and and truly appreciate her professional handling of our situation. As a result, we will be repeat customers and plan on gifting these excellent quality steaks to everyone on our Christmas list that will enjoy them. BTW, these steaks, especially the NY prime strips, are DELICIOUS and melt in your mouth. Thank you Carol for being so sweet!

My neighbor gave me 2 steak (porterhouse) 1.5 inches thick.Now the cut on bone was 3/4 inches thick. That is not good. Suppose to weigh 20 oz.No more than 15 oz. I cooked it for my neighbor. He was not happy as felt cheated. Meat was good but that is not right.

I placed an order for meat I was told was GREAT. I received dry-aged ribeyes filled with fat. I contacted customer service who just made excuses and gave me a lecture on how the fat cooks into the meat. I even submitted a photo with the huge chunk of fat.

The steaks from Allen Brothers are excellent. If you make it to Charleston, SC; I would recommend Halls Chop House which serves Allen Brothers steaks. This particular shipment was misplaced by UPS. Allen Brothers has gone out of their way to ensure a wonderful Birthday for my husband. They shipped a replacement order on a Saturday and are tracking it all the way to our door. I would recommend Allen Brothers to anyone looking for prime steaks! The steaks are excellent. I can't wait to try the lobster tails with the next order. If you make it to Charleston, SC; I would suggest Halls Chop House which serves Allen Brothers steaks.

Allen Brothers is located in Westminster Vt, right off the highway, you can fill up your car, get some gifts, eat the best homemade food in the deli, and the best homemade bakery items in the bakery, they have homemade apple cider dougnuts everyday, stredustels, turnovers, croissants, cinnamon rolls, cinnamon batons, muffins, you name it it is homemade everyday! Their gardening center is out of theis world you can pick up any flower, houseplant or buy your veggies to start your own garden. If you are ever in the are, this is a must stop place, see ya there

Having left two messages via email -- days apart --and  calling but being on hold for 3 to 5 minutes at a stretch I finally reached Customer Service about my overnight order which was never received.  I was told the shipment had not been sent because it " did not make it on the truck". When I asked why and what could be done they simply stated they coujld cancel the order. Stunning arrogance and rudeness.  I would NOTmake a purchase from them; at their prices perhaps they should be staffed to respond and have an order system that is effective.     Stay away from buying from Allen Brothers.
