My six year old son has taken after me with his love for arts and crafts. He loves drawing, coloring, sculpting, just creating things. Well about a week ago he picked out AllStar Products Bendaroos. We had been seeing the commercials on TV, so when he saw them on the shelf, he went for them.

For $15 the set we purchased came with 500 Bendaroos, 250 rainbow colors and 250 neon colors. The set also comes with a guide to make things. The Benadaroos are six inches long, which I think is the perfect length. I think if there were any longer they would be a little more difficult to work with. The Bendaroos are waxy strings. They are sort of like a thin flexible candle. They are recommended for children ages 3 and up.

With Bendaroos you can make just about anything. They flex really easily and retain the shape you put them in. The only problem I had with the Bendaroos not holding their shape is when you "draw" with them. When you make a 2-D picture instead of 3-D ,like a sculpture. But my solution to that is make sure you press down and stick them on the surface  you are working on. That makes them stick and makes it a lot easier to do. And make sure to press the Bendaroos together. They hold really well together.

Another tip, is when you need to make a solid structure, use something else on the inside to save Bendaroos. We used crumpled up paper to use as the base. And guess what? Bendaroos are reusable, so when you want to make something else, just take apart you creation and make something new!

Not only can you draw and sculpt with Bendaroos but you can transform things too. You can decorate picture frames, lamps, anything you want. But be aware, it can leave a residue on things so be careful what you put them on.

One of the downfalls to this product is one that really can't be fixed. Because it's a waxy string, it leaves a residue on the surface you are working on. It also leaves your hands feeling waxy but definitely not sticky. Things stick to it like hair, dirt, etc. But, it's really easy to pull off whatever is stuck to it. The other problem with this is there was no brown. My experience with the guide was okay. The cupcake instructions made my cupcake look differently than the picture. But, after a little tweaking, I got it too look just like the picture. I actually think my looks better, mine has a candle. ;) Other than that Bendaroos are awesome!

My imagination runs wild with these things and so does my son's. The other day I had two of my nieces, ages 6 and 8, spend the night and they loved them too! Everyone that comes over, even adults, love these. There's no mess, promotes imagination and they're reusable. And, they're really, really fun to play with! I definitely recommend trying out AllStar Products Bendaroos.

I bought these for my nephews and niece for when they hang out with aunty (me) lol. We LOVE making all kinds of things with them, the hamburger took me almost an hour, so much fun !! The kids create some awesome stuff too.

These really are fun to play with. I even found myself asking my son if we could play with them. I would definitely check out the "real" Bendaroos. I believe they sell smaller sets too. Thanks for the read!

My kids were given a similar product made by another company but they didn't like them. Maybe it was an inferior product? I would find the waxy sticks rolled up into little balls all over the house and finally ended up throwing them away. I'm sure that there are more hidden in little crevices, clothing drawers, under the beds, etc. I think that my kids would have enjoyed the real Bendaroos. Nice review!

Yeah, and it doesn't dry out like play-doh

How cute! Sounds better than PlayDo, since the colors don't get mashed together!
