Having just paid for a supporting membership at Allrecipes, I am very pleased with the features and I will be maintaining it. Everything functions as they said it would. I can created modified private recipes off the posted ones quickly and easily and save to my personal cook books. They also offer blogging and I have found the ability to have a community with that very nice.
The offer private cookbooks for free to all members unlike other sites which require you pay for them and also included is the ability to enter your own personal recipes and save. Navagation is easy. You also don't have to wade thru pages and pages of duplicate recipes that may only have amounts or one ingredient different or are even exact duplicates.. You also know that these recipes have been examined and are on there because they are worth being on there not because it was someone's whim. It may not have as large a database but it has a more accurate one. The database at Allrecipes is accurate and if you spot what might be a problem, customer service handles it quickly.
Customer Service is great and they immedately look into your complaints. You get a strong sense that they care about the customer and are willing to go the extra mile. Everything is answered fast and timely.
I also like the feature articles along with suggested recipes that are much more than promoting the recipes but also educate the cook.
