All My Children —

All My Children is one of my favorite daytime dramas.  In fact, I watch several.  Some people call them soap operas, my family calls them "the stories".  I grew up watching them with my Mom and Grandmom and still enjoy watching them today.  Of the three shows I like to watch, All My Children is my favorite.  I try to watch daily, but sometimes tivo it to watch when I have time.

Sure, during the last few years, the show had gone downhill a bit as far as characters and writing, but it is coming back up due to new writers and the return of original characters that we all know and love.  The characters that have remained, for the most part, are just as funny, devious, evil and sweet as they were all along.

There's Adam Chandler who is always out to get someone while throwing in a comic retort from time to time, and don't forget his sweetheart of a twin, Stuart.  Erica Kane is still the same beautiful man-user of yesteryear.  Jackson, Opal, Palmer, Zach, Kendall, Ryan, J.R., Amanda, Crystal, Aiden and Tad are still up to their same antics and add to the shows continuity.  The newer cast members like  Frankie, Randi, Pete, Samuel and Annie just enhance the storylines that are already in place.  Bringing back the original Jesse, Angie, Greenlee and Gregg (for a short time) shows that the writers know we viewers liked the actors and brought them back to please us.

All My Children still explores new and controversial subject matter such as interracial romance, prostitution, infidelity, infectious diseases and premature birth.  I must admit, though, that it went way off the mark with the whole 'Josh is Erica's son because an evil doctor implanted her abortion into his own wife' thing.

So those of you who stopped watching for awhile, it's time to come back.  All My Children is still the exciting, daytime drama it always was, with just a few change.  Some for the better. Just like you don't abandon your favorite sports team when they have a losing streak, you shouldn't abandon a good soap opera just because of a few bad storylines.

That's okay NattScatt! AMC is so good right now. Can't wait to watch it at the end of the week! (I have to record it so catch up on the weekend!)

Glad to hear you are enjoying the show NattScatt.

I have been routing for Susan Lucci on Dancing w/the Stars also. I felt so bad for her last week...I'm sure her foot must have been hurting quite a bit. I hope she is able to dance next week and that she does another dance like her Tango - the judges seemed to like that! She did a great job with that one!

So are you watching Dancing With the Stars to see your girl dance? I have been but missed it last night. I am cheering for Susan but I "think" Brooke might win. ~Gigi

Thanx for the comment, GigiandAonai. I do remember Tristin. I also know about Susan's daughter. She looks more like her father. All My Children is very good now. People are dying, ony not the person I would like. I know that sounds a little harsh, but we all know there are some characters who need to go. ; )

I have never watched soaps on a regular basis but if I had to choose I would say General Hospital. I loved the Scottie, Dominque and Lucy storyline and really loved it years ago when Finola Hughes played Anna Devane Lavery. Remember Tristin Rogers? Ummm, ummm! Okay, AMC is good too and Susan Lucci is one bombshell for her age, right? Don't we all wish we could look that good when we get old? Did you know Susan Lucci's daughter is the actress that plays Gwen on Passions?
