All Mattel Products have gotten a bad name with the recent recalls of toys laced with lead paint. All of our reviewers gave Mattel toys a one star because of their concerns with the safety of these toys. With recalled toys, lead paint and chocking hazards, parents and educators are not willing to take the chance anymore with Mattel Products. "They have lost their integrity," said Mckait.

Is it me or is it getting to where your children can't play?

Is it me or is it getting to where your kids cant even play? I mean all of the toys we have bought recently for our daughter has been recalled! Now I have to take them from her to get newer safer toys. How am i supposed to keep doing this to her? I mean it's like i'm the bad guy. Having to take away her toys. They have got to stop this! Let me know if you agree.

I was absolutely disgusted with the refusal of a representative of the compnay to even attemt to answer Matt Laur's questions about the problem. To me it simply suggested that they were not interested in taking responsibility for their mistakes, or considering making changes, It said only that they don't give a darn.

typical of most large... gigantic really in this cse.. companies.

I work with special needs preschoolers. Everything is in their mouths all the time.
It is so bad these days that we have no idea if we have caught up with all the recalls or not, even though we receive almost daily updates... read full review »

Will we ever be able to trust the toys our children play with?

All if this chaos about toys containing lead paint has gotten all of us mother thinking, is anything safe for our children? As a mother of a 3 yr old boy, I have had to take away toys from my child, and thinking of every toy he has and if that is safe or if it's made in china. But everything is made in china it seems. My son loves the disney cars characters and alot of disney product were recalled. I guess all we can do is look out for the recalls and get our children tested for lead in their blood. But is this enough??

Mattel is a great brand,but be careful when buying.
buying for durability, a fan of educational toys, buying for 6-10 year olds, watching with kids, into action flicks, a movie buff, into anti-aging creams, a comedy fan

 Mattel makes a lot of great toys,but there were a lot of recalls with them so you have to be very careful when you buy these toys.Always keep up with the latest recalls and keep track of all the Mattel brand toys that you have,especially if they are made in China.

Mattel is a good company and I enjoy looking at all the items they sell for children that suit their educational needs at any age. By far the most selection. Sturdy and durable, money back if requested. Overall a great line of products.
