Would it surprise you to know that I really hate to shop? Well, I do. It really bugs me when I run out of things and have to go to the store and buy replacements. Traffic, annoying shoppers, long lines, not to mention the impulse items and crap I don't really need but can't resist... ugh! If only I could somehow buy the stuff I need and avoid the stores and temptation completely. Oh wait, I CAN! Yay!
A few weeks ago someone at work told me about a new shopping site called Alice.com and said it was a great concept. So, being the avid online shopper that I am, I immediately checked it out and totally fell in love with Alice.
Alice has all the stuff I regularly run out of and have to go to the store to buy. But what's really great is that most everything is less expensive than or prices are on par with my local grocery, drug, and discount stores. Even if things are a few cents more, it's worth it to me to pay a little extra for the convenience. You see, Alice.com never charges for shipping. I can order a tube of toothpaste or a whole box of stuff and the shipping is always free and arrives within 3 business days or so. Oh! And if there is a coupon for an item, they automatically apply it to the item so you don't have to think about it. I got a huge box of household cleaning stuff, TP, shampoo, and a few other things delivered right to my door, packed awesomely, for about $14.
The Alice site is fun and easy to use. I just find what I'm looking for by searching or shop according to the room in my house that I need to buy stuff for. When I select something, Alice gives me the option of just placing it in my cart or saving it in my account so I can easily reorder later. The site even allows users to set reminders so they remember to order stuff before it runs out. For example, I ordered shampoo and the site gave me the option to be reminded anywhere from between every 2 weeks to every 6 months. That's kinda handy. There's also a budgeting tab which is kind of neat as it shows how much I've spent according to room. I'm a big fan of pie charts so I like that.
So as you can tell, I'm a big fan of Alice. It's easy, fun, convenient, economical, and way less hassle for me. Yay. Alice's slogan is "everyone needs an alice" and it's true!
