What do you get when you combine beautiful blondes, rope, noisy birds and nosy neighbors?

Alfred Hithcock's  movies , of course.

"Alfred Hitchcock The Masterpiece Collection" comes in a wine (or a version of bloodred)velour box with his self-portrait logo and lettering embossed in gold. Classy! It contains fifteen movies by the master of suspense. That's fifteen discs of thrills and chills.

The movies are "Saboteur", "Shadow Of A Doubt", "Rope", "Rear Window", "The Trouble With Harry", "The Man Who KnewToo Much", "Vertigo", "Psycho", "The Birds", "Marnie", "Torn Curtain", "Topaze", "Frenzy" and "Family Plot".

Besides the movies there are great bonus features included. They give  in depth looks at the making of these classics, deleted scenes, trailers, and interviews with various people (including his daughter Pat Hithcock O Connell) giving insights into the mind of the "master of suspense". It will inform you why and how he worked. Fascinating!

Also included in the box is a small booklet. Its introduction gives you more information about Alfred Hitchcock. Then it presents a lot of great photos and trivia about each of the movies of the set.

For example, in a scene in "Saboteur" showing a capsized ship, they really did use an authentic  ship the "Normandie" that had been capsized at a pier in New York.  Hitchcock refused tocut the scene from the film even though the marines insisted.

In "The Birds" whenTippi Hendren was attacked by birds when trapped in a room, her face really did get cut. He kept that in too.

" Alfred HitchcockThe Masterpiece Collection" is an ideal gift for Hitchcock fans or those who love can't-take-your-eyes-off-the-screen-sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense thrillers.

We might be giving it to someone this Christmas. Rope was really good, and the whole movie was basically in one room. Great plot.

This looks like a great gift idea. I love Rope!

Thank you. Since the collection is on dvd the quality is excellent. I'm sure if any of the films need it they work on restoring them before putting them on dvds, ecspecially if films are classics. The worst was "Frenzy" and "Rear Window" is my favorite. I will be reviewing it in the future. Yes I will keep writing, when health permits. Thanks again.

Good quick review. I would like to know if the quality of the films are all good and perhaps what the best and worst films in the collection are in your opinion. Keep writing!!!
