Last year I found out that I had a herniated and a bulging disc along with other issues with my spine. Surgery was recommended but although I had some pain, I believed it was manageable so I refused surgery. I tried some over the counter medications such as Thera-Gesic Maximum Strength Pain Relieving Creme which really didn't work too well but I was able to manage it with Ibuprofen 800 mg.. Earlier this year, I suffered a secondary injury to my neck and unfortunately, I have been out of commission since April with chronic pain in my neck, back and shoulders. At times, the pain was so unbearable it would bring tears to my eyes. Surgery is slated for October of this year but in the mean time, I needed something to help me get through the day. I was prescribed several pain medications that included Hydrocodone and Flector Patches. The Hydrocodone didn't touch the pain and upset my stomach. I had horrible side effects from the Flector Patches. (Review to come) A friend kept telling me to try Aleve Liquid Gels but I couldn't imagine that an over the counter drug could help if all of those prescription drugs didn't. Desperate and with nothing to lose but a few bucks, I decided to finally try Aleve. I have to say, I am truly shocked and amazed at how effective and long lasting this medication is.
About Aleve
Aleve is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that temporarily relieves minor aches and pains due to arthritis, muscular aches, backache, menstrual cramps, headache, toothache and the common cold. It also temporarily reduces fever. Each capsule contains 220 mg of the active ingredient Naproxen sodium (naproxen 200 mg). Besides liquid gels, Aleve comes in other forms such as caplets and smooth gels. There is even an Aleve for sinus & allergy problems.
Directions for use
Adults and Children 12 years and older
My Experience
These disc problems have literally halted a good portion of my daily activities. For example, if you look at my review writing history here at Viewpoints, you can see that my writing pretty much stopped in April. I started taking Aleve and here I am finally back to being able to type more regularly on the computer again. I haven't had my surgery yet but with Aleve Liquid Gels, the pain subsides quickly and allows me to do many more of the things that I have to do and more importantly, love to do. Don't get me wrong, I'm not 100% pain free but I feel an amazing difference.
The liquid gels are very easy to swallow and even though I take them on a regular basis, I haven't experienced any side effects. They are also surprisingly affordable. At Wal-Mart, it cost me a mere $4.32 for a bottle of 20 that I keep in my purse and $6.96 for 40 capsules that I keep in my medicine cabinet.
My Final Viewpoint
Aleve Liquid Gels have really been a blessing to me. Just when I thought I would have no other choice but to suffer until surgery, this over the counter pain reliever has given me my life back. I HIGHLY recommend trying Aleve before putting anything harsher into your system. You just might be as surprised as I was at how effective it is.
5 STARS!
