Anyone that's been in an Aldi Food Store knows they are smaller than your everyday SUPERMARKET. That's what I like about them. I know they don't carry everything; I can deal with that. I can get in and out usually very quickly. So what if it's a 'generic' brand if it's just as good? PRICE MATTERS! I'm on a fixed income.
Those giant SUPERMARKETS are a nightmare to me. For example...you need mustard. As soon as you walk in the door you see a stand with one brand of mustard on sale. You grab one. Then, out of curiosity, you wander back to where they keep ALL the mustard. You find 5 other brands cheaper than the one in your cart! GEEZ! I'm just a simple man...don't give me 10 choices. I'll be there all day trying to decide. Most men (including me) are simple creatures. So keep it simple. I don't want 15 choices in toilet paper. (LOL)
OK...enough humor. I've found most of their meat (frozen only) to be good to great. I didn't care for the frozen steaks though. That's what I get for splurging. Their frozen chicken is good. Their frozen boneless chicken breasts are GREAT! They have good romaine lettuce. So make a "blackened chicken Caesar salad". Mmmm. Their bread prices blow away the competition. Pizza anyone? Their 'Supreme' pizzas are just as good as the higher priced ones.
You want a brand name...go to a SUPERMARKET. You want a bargain? Go to Aldi. You won't find shopping carts littering the parking lot either. Pay a quarter to get a cart. Get it back when you return the cart to the staging area. Why doesn't everyone do this?
