I am so thankful for Aldi! There are a few things that are not so great (the boxed potatoes for instance), but for the most part, the quality for the price is great! Their meat, especially, is excellent quality for a low price. It has saved us SOOO much money on our grocery bill! I have also bought special purchases several times with no problems. And with my recent ban on Wal-Mart, it really helps us keep our grocery costs down. (I have also reviewed Wal-Mart if you are curious)

Tip: Aldi only stocks in the morning, so if you go in the AM they will have a MUCH better selection than if you go later in the day!

Tip: Also if you go in the AM, there are a lot more boxes you can box your stuff with. I usually go looking for a specific size box, that way I can use it to organize something specific in my house. The Gatorade boxes, for example, are nice and sturdy and work great for a lot of different supplies.  I have one for household cleaners, one for car cleaning supplies, and one for under the sink to hold trash bags, dishwasher soap, etc. They're great!  I have been using Aldi this way to not only save money on groceries, but to organize my house without spending a dime! I love it!

Nope, just frozen, that could have changed. unfortunately I haven't had an Aldi's of my own for about 5 years. But whenever I visit my mom's (when it was withing driving distance) I actually took time to grocery shop and stock up on boxes and cans that I could drive back to TN with me. After all it was only a 5 hour drive and then I didn't need to go shopping when I got back! Mom even took the kids. maybe THAT is why I liked the store so much ;-D

Before our Aldi's got a fresh meat section, I would have agreed with you about the meat, but now that they have fresh meat, the quality at ours is great! We buy ground turkey a lot since it is healthier and have never had any problems with quality. They also have great turkey tenderloins that are already marinated--delicious! Did your Aldi not have fresh meat?

one of the things i missed right after moving was that there was no aldi's in my new home. great prices especially on boxed items and canned, but you do have to be careful of meats and some other items.
