Holds well, but don't like the fragrance
I bought a can of VO5 hairspray in search of something, anything, that would tame my frizzy hair. It's always been unmanageable, with lots of flyaways, and can work itself out of any style I put it into. I was definitely looking for a maximum-hold product. Vo5 works well in that respect. I just style my hair, spray for a few seconds, and I can feel it working right away to keep my hair in place. It keeps my hair in place without looking too artificial. No 60s bouffants here! The thing I don't like is the smell. This stuff smells like...well...like hairspray. It has a very artificial, "chemical" smell that fills the room and just feels unhealthy, like I might be breathing in noxious fumes. I only like to use Vo5 hairspray in well-ventilated areas. I usually open a window before I use it. The smell also makes me suspicious about what they're putting in there and what it is I'm spraying. I've been using Vo5 less lately because I worry about that. I wish they would put more natural ingredients and scents into their hairspray. I like having a style that stays all day, but I'm not so sure about my hair smelling like chemicals all day.
