Alaska Airlines Review

I would only fly on Alaska or Horizon if I could.  I think they are that much better than any other domestic airline out there flying.  I travel out of Northwest Washington State, and found if your going to touch down at any of the regional "whistlestops" or major destinations from a smaller local airport, Alaska or Horizon is it, as they cover the entire West Coast including connections to Mexico better than anyone. I think they're the best of what airlines are supposed to do and rarely falter in my experience.  I've flown Alaska literally over a hundred flights worth, and found them rarely late, and always easy to work with should you're travel plans change unexpectedly.  That being stated, while connecting between the two airlines, the transition is flawless from baggage retrieval to one stop ticketing.   

As far as customer service goes, I've never had a problem with a flight, nor having to change a flight, nor run into a rude detached ticketing agent, nor spent time having to stand around the airport looking for my bags from an Alaska Airlines flight.  In this era of modern air travel, this is a miracle on par with the parting of the Red Sea!

Alaska Airlines is part of the Alaska Air Group, and runs the majority of the major flight routes, while Horizon serves as the connector to the smaller community airfields, and larger market short duration shuttles.  While Alaska is an entirely jet fleet of 737's and MD-80's, Horizon operates Bombardier Commuter Jets, and Bombardier Dash 4 and 8 turboprops.  Alaska's route system has expanded to the Midwest and east coast in recent years, and now is offering service to Hawaii, and has expanded service to Canada and Mexico. 

I really like Alaska's airmile reward program, and believe that Alaska has one of the best airmile programs I have participated in, and I participate in several.  I also like their Alaska Air dot com website for ticketing ease and reward redemption.  In short, I guess I just like Alaska best.   

Too bad they don't fly to Europe, then I could skip flying on British again.  I give em' 5 stars!!
