I fell in love with Alanis about the same time most people who loved her did. It was her album "Jagged Little Pill", released in June of 95. Morissette rocked an entire nation with hits like "You Outa Know", "Hand in my Pocket", "You Learn", and my favorite from the album, "All I really Want". Every song on that CD was awesome. That was over thirteen years ago. She never really recaptured the public quite like she did in the summer of 95 again, but thats not to say her music wasn't as good. Alanis' song writing is superb on this album. I was impressed with the wit that conveyed such conflict. The lyrics weave such a vibrant picture and her voice just resounds the pain/triumphant.

read full review »I put Alanis and Dave Matthews in a similar category--they are enormously talented, but the appreciation of that talent has been diminished by the hughe sucess of their initial works. With some exceptions on Supossed Former Infatuation Junkie, Alanis has consistently put out interesting and artistic music. Flavors is no exception. Her voice continues to get better, her lyrics are poetic yet accessible, her melodies get better and better with more listens.
