We started out by requesting an intermediate-size vehicle when we arranged our vacation plans.  They didn't have any, which was fine, and they "upgraded" us to a Ford Mustang.  Nice car and everything but not very appropriate for riding around with a toddler and a car seat in the back seat.  But that wasn't Alamo's fault, but my husband's.  Anyway, we returned the car very early because we had a 6:40 am departure.  There was no one available to return our car to so we parked the car and put the key in the little roller thing that's supposed to be theft-proof and off we go.  A couple weeks later I check my credit card bill to find that we have been billed over $200 more than we were supposed to!  We call to find that our car was "returned" two days after we left the city!  How is that if the thing to return the keys to is supposed to be safe to leave the keys in?!  Long story short, the managers gave us a really hard time for about 3 or 4 weeks until we were able to provide all the proof we could come up with.  Never again will I go through Alamo if my car is not going to be checked in when I actually return it!!!

I agree with her; do NOT use Alamo. They scammed us through an automatic transmission shop that they had an agreement with in
Austin, TX. And just like her, they tried to charge us for 2 days extra, and again, like her, it was in a situation where we returned the car when no one was there. It's obviously part of their corporate philosophy.
