My first visit to the Alamo Drafthouse at Lake Creek was during the 2007 Austin Film Festival, when I took in screenings of Doug Benson's Super High Me and Dirt Road to Psychedelia, Scott Conn's cool documentary about Austin in the '60s. The Alamos have been called "The best movie theaters in America," and with good reason. Not only do they offer discerning film fare, they serve tasty food and good beer, too.
The Lake Creek location is not only the most modern of all the Austin Alamos, it also has the best beer selection, with a huge draft rack that features local favorites like 512, Real Ale,...
review »The best movie theater on the planet. You get dinner, a movie and drinks! What more can you ask for? The price here is decent. Less than many movie theaters and you get a discount if you're a student.
Only downside is the noise/distractions but it's not that bad and what do you expect when you have people taking food orders and eating meals.
If you live in austin or are visiting you have to go to this place at least once just to experience it.
Alamo is one of my favorite places to go in Austin. Its a fun place to see a movie and have a beer and pizza while you watch the show! Its a great place to go on a date too! I love the theme nights they have as well.
