Quick View: I bought this thing when I was rehabbing my knee. My PT thought it would be much less demanding then other surfaces for me to exercise on and gave me a list of exercises to do. I hated it. When I stepped off, I felt like I was still bouncing and I didn't like how hard it was to get the thing to bounce. But I am still rating high for other reasons.
About the Airzone 38" Mini Band Trampoline
Kids and adults can use this trampoline. I never was one for bouncing around but, when my knee was surgically repaired, my physical therapist suggested a mini trampoline or rebounder to do some exercises on which would challenge my balance and stamina while not putting extra wear and tear on my knee. This was crazy to assemble but, once it was together, I noticed that it was springless, using bands of webbing to give the bouncy affect. Apparently, the webbing is safer than springs. But it is also much harder to actually bounce on than springs. The trampoline is about 12 inches high and 38 inches around which is a bit larger than standard mini trampolines. It is well made and sits on thick rubber feet and sturdy metal legs. My issue was that I hated how it felt. As I said, I don't enjoy bouncing much and, after working out to a specially made DVD for me, I would step down and feel like I was still bouncing. Ever get off an elevator and feel like you're still moving? That is how I felt after using this thing. Plus, it is SO limited. There are just a handful of things you can do on it. Now, kids may have a ball jumping around on it but my youngest son was at the age where he should have enjoyed it but he played on it a few times and moved on.
It does fold for somewhat easier storage but that isn't an easy task and the unit is heavy. Because there are no springs, bouncing takes some effort and I think it did my knee no good to be on this surface. I should have bought a bouncier rebounder. Despite all this, this is a good mini trampoline and is made more safely than spring types. If you have a use for one, this is an inexpensive and decent choice. I just hated it because it made me feel weird and didn't bounce without taxing my knee - exactly what I was trying to avoid.
My Viewpoint
The Airzone 38" Mini Band Trampoline is a well made, large mini trampoline that is safer (in theory) than a spring one. For kids, this could be a fun thing, I suppose. At least if they fall off, they only fall 12 inches. For adults using this as a rebounder to exercise, it is passable. It is tough to get a good bounce going but otherwise, it does spring back well and challenge balance. I hated it for reasons that were not the fault of the unit so I am going with 4 stars based on price, construction, size, and higher safety than a spring trampoline.
