My husband and I traveled with Air Tran to the Bahamas for our honeymoon. He handled all of the arrangements and we were scheduled to fly out in the early afternoon. As he had never traveled internationally, we arrived to the airport very early so he would have time to comfortably learn what needed to be done. When we arrived, Air Tran informed us that our flights had been changed. They were very apologetic and worked hard to book us on other airlines to get us to the Bahamas same day. At this point, I was very grateful and impressed by the staff. She was efficient and very helpful. She checked our return flights and told us that everything else was ok. We bounced around the US several times, but we did make it to the Bahamas that day. A week and a half later, we went to the airport to catch our flights home. When we got there, there wasn't even any one at the Air Tran counter. Delta representatives hunted us down someone who told us once again that flights had been changed and everything was gone for the day. After a hour of trying to find someone with the authority to help us, Air Tran managed to get me on a flight that got me home about midnight. My husband didn't make it home for annother 24 hours. A written complaint to Air Tran received no response. Needless to say, I recommend everyone avoid Air Tran. A single change in schedule and staff correction is certainly reasonable. To go through the same scenario twice on one trip is simply unacceptable.
