My dream vacation with Africa, her animals and her people

When my husband and I wanted to visit Africa, we didn't know where to start. All we knew is that we wanted to see animals, and lots of them. After a long process, we finally went with African Dream Safaris and visited East Africa. It was the trip of a lifetime, but I think we'll go back if we have a chance. Our guide, Adam, was fabulous. We still keep in touch with him via e-mail. It's like talking to an old friend.

Kenya was life changing. We saw a mother lion giving birth..Lions mating, A poor and humble people...Poverty but pride...Everyone should see this country once in their lifetime....Would go back again. We started out in Nairobi and then went up the country to see the Masai Mari tribe..There were small villages with many people....The children are taught not to beg for anything from white people...We inquired before hand and asked what we could bring for the children of these villages and were told pens...We went to the dollar store before we left and purchased a couple thousand pens and gave them... read full review »

This summer I was blessed to spend two days on a safari in Tsavo. What an experience? It was such a different landscape than what I'm used to. I felt as though I was on a different planet. Let me tell you all the nature shows on T.V. don't do it justice. We saw so many animals up close and personnal. We got to watch a pride of lioness on the hunt. This was more action packed than any Die Hard movie. Oh the Elephants they were amazing. they were so close that you could feel the dust they kicked up. I have been to 31 countries on six continents. This is the best trip I have ever taken. To see all the magnificent wildlife in their natural habitat is incredible. We spent hours watching lion prides play, hunt and eat. I didn't know baby elephants wrestle with each other. Giraffes, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, dik diks, crocs, water buffalo, hippos, zebras, wildebeest. The list goes on and on. Try to plan your trip during the wildebeest migration.
