African Butterfly Hair Combs —

I was recently researching the new EZ Combs currently being shown on informercials and hoping to find them at a store near my home so I could save on shipping and (hopefully) price.  While doing this research I found a long hair forum where the long haired ladies had tried the EZ Combs but preferred the African Butterflies.  They were double the price ($20 each - so much for saving money) but I liked the many different colors and designs and they looked to be of better quality.

AB Combs are like the EZ Combs in that they are comprised of two hair combs attached in the middle by bead covered elastics.  The idea is that they stretch and then contract to hold all sorts of cute hairstyles in place.

AB Combs can be found online at several different sites but I bought mine on Ebay as the combs I wanted were sold out on all the other sites.  I liked that the combs come in different shades for different hair colors (blonde, brown, and black but nothing for redheads) and there are many design configurations with different color and size beads.

I purchased a brown comb and a black comb with bead combinations that I like.  They are easy to place in my hair and they stay put all day.  I can create all sorts of updos, ponytails, or just pull the sides back and out of my face.

I also really like that at the end of the day I don't have a huge headache from wearing these combs.  They look so much nicer than ponytail bands or those awful plastic hair claws and they feel better too.  I am able to put my hair up and lay on my back or lean my head against a chair or my car seat and nothing digs into my head.

African Butterfly hair combs are pricey but they are sturdy and do seem to be higher quality than the EZ Combs.  I'm really glad I bought them and I get tons of compliments on them as well.  The only beef I have with this product is that online the combs look to be made of wood.  I was disappointed when I opened the box and found that they were made of plastic.
