If you have a good rep, then Aflac is wonderful.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

If I had given this review two years ago, it would have been very negative.  I've had Aflac for about ten years and my representative was just horrible.  He was never around to service the account, and I'd simply forgotten all about it.

But, my new representative is wonderful!!!  She reminded me of my policy and actually assisted me in getting two claims processed.  They were very minor accident claims, but within a week I received two checks totalling over $ 500.00!!!!  I was so pleased, so THRILLED, that I sent my rep flowers!  I would never have seen that money if it wasn't for her!  I wuv her.  :-)

If you're not familiar with Aflac, it is a insur...

AFLAC Insurance: Supplemental Insurance for Peace of Mind

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

Insurance is a necessary evil. Most insurance products offer nothing in return for your money except for peace of mind and many of these products do not offer enough protection when a crisis strikes. For those who could benefit from a little added peace of mind, the insurance industry brings us AFLAC Insurance, a company with dozens of different insurance policies for greater financial security. Insurance Commentary:I have held several different roles in accounting, finance, and management during my working career and AFLAC Insurance is a company I have grown to know quite well. I have served as the administrator of my company's AFLAC insurance plan in past job positions and ...

Aflac- what a waste of time and money

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

My brother was in a terrible accident. Once I figured out he had Aflac I quickly filed a claim on his behalf.  He had accident and a disability policy.  My brother had a few beers after my grandfathers funeral. My brother fell and hit his head on a curb, he hit so hard he fractured his skull in multiple places and was air lifted to a trauma center. He was in the ICU for over two weeks. While in the hospital he had a seizure and a minor heart attack. They installed a pacemaker in his chest and he has brain damage.  He is only 34 years old and was in great health prior to this catastrophe.  He was not drunk, he was not driving, he was not committing a crime or a felony and...drinking is not against the law.  His claims for accident and disability was declined because he had alcohol in his system.

Really??? He is 6 feet tall 200lbs and had a BAC of .102.  Is this really a reason to decline him?

A waste of money and time.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

For over eight years I was a member of Aflac. I wish I had never signed up with this company!!!!

Over that time I have paid roughly about $3,640 on different policies. Including a life insurance policy.  In total I received seven "wellness checks". At $60.00 each.

When I needed to use my disability, I was told that because I was taking off from work to care for my eleven year old son after a heart transplant and not because I was sick I couldn't collect the funds that I needed.

What did they expect me to do??

How could I not be there to care for him when he needed me the most?

What could I do?

Leave him home alone??

The only response I got from a few Aflac...

I f I could do this over I would NEVER have used Aflac!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I have paid my Aflac premiums for Short term disabilty faithfully for 3 years and now that I am actually out and in need of my money it has been one problem after another.  My faxes are never received or they accidentally  misread something.  Every person you speak to tells you a different story and it delays the claim process.  When I finally had it ready then they inform me that my policy had been terminated  at their fault.  They would need to reinstate the policy which delayed the claim even further.  Needless to say 6 weeks later and I still have no money!  I would not recommend them to anyone!!

Disorganized and Questionable

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

This is a review based upon like myself who was a potential candidate for employment with the company. When I encountered them at a job fair, the representative has said that anyone who submitted a resume will automatically be given an interview. Too good to be true as it turned out, because when I went to that interview it seemed that the person who I talked to over the phone wasn't the same person I saw at the job fair along with having the date of the interview being misunderstood by way of her not being explicit as to when the correct date was. When I got there on the correct date, it went well although they didn't bother to look at my resume yet when I had to defray the cost for the on-...

Aflac = SCUM

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

This miserable excuse for a company deducts their payments from my checking account at completely random dates despite my signing a form stating that they could take it out on the 15 of each month. Finally after the last time they took it out on June 13 causing my checking account to overdraw (my payday was the 14th) I called and canceled my policies. I was advised that a refund could not be returned electronically & that I would have to wait for a paper check. Fine. After over a week I received the check... for far less than they had taken! I called and was advised to wait up to 25 minutes on hold to speak to a rep. Rep insisted that the amounts were correct. Advised that I would be willing...

shop around

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

When they came to my worksite it was very easy for me to see the "value" in their products. That held up until I checked the competition and had a claim to file.

Most of the companies that offered supplemental type products were in a different world as far as price. Some more than half the price. I think Aflac is so big because they appear to flood the market with "agents". I never saw the same agent twice. Our human Resources said they would have 3 different people call on the business every week. Even after we were an account.

I fell and broke my arm. First thing I did was attempt to call the person that had sold me the policy. They were no longer with the company. I f...

On hold right now

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I would not recommend AFLAC and if we can ever get our pending claims resolved we'll drop it. I've been sending in forms and doctor statements since April. I never get an update from AFLAC, I must always be the one who initiates a contact to find out why the claim hasn't been paid. In fact I am on hold right now trying to get some answers. Most recently they were waiting on a statement from a doctor that no longer treats our daughter to state that he no longer treats her.

We have thousands of dollars pending. They are a great example of not living up to their advertising. It sure would be nice to have some extra money right now, but all we get is the old run around.

I could keep Aflac when I left my job - what a Godsend!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I saw other reviews on here saying you can't keep Aflac Insurance if you leave your job and so I had to write because that's just not true. It's the ONLY insurance I was able to take with me when I left my job. Oh, you can get Cobra and try to keep your major medical if you can afford to pay 3 times more for it than you did at work. But with Aflac, you keep the SAME RATES and just pay from home instead of through your paycheck. What happens is, they send you a letter when they see that your job isn't paying for your Aflac anymore and they give you the chance to pay with your checking account or a credit card every month. It was totally smooth for me. Also I've filed 2 claims on my accident i...

AFLAC Rated 'Worlds Most Ethical Company' 2010

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I'd like to see more comments with REAL opinions based on truthful experiences from people. Not comments or personal experiences someone encountered in a local regional office. While it is "bad" that you had this bad experience and they represented AFLAC. But it does not speak to who AFLAC is as a whole. So being able to give a real honest comment/feedback is what you have to focus on.

WE all need to have insurance. Anyone that believes otherwise is dreaming. I have had to use disability insurance through a unplanned surgery. My plan was not through AFLAC and I don't have any negative comments to post. But just to say that being able to know that I was able to pay my ongoing monthly bills w...

The best investment you'll ever make.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I walk everywhere, and I do not drive, I see accidents happen every day, and lately pedestrians have been targets. Worse, many are either hit-and-run, or drivers without insurance. While that leaves the victim of an accident uncovered, I began to worry, and looked around for an insurance company with NO BULL. Better, it has little paperwork, and pays its benefits sooner. Being a secondary insurance, I found it helped during the waiting for the payments of the first. A friend with the same Insurance programs went through the stages. No bull. Quick payout (yes you did have to provide some proof), but once processed, no questions were asked, and payout began for her. After having been...

Aflac does what it promises

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I have had no issues with aflac. My husband choked on a piece of steak had to go to emergency room and have it removed by scope. We were paid $120 for the emergency room visit and $300 for the removal for a total of $420. I sent all the information to them myself filed online hospital was happy to give me the records for free. They had it processed in 3.5 business days WOW! I have also collected off a fall having to go to the chiropractor. The only issues I have had is my chiro is slow to send forms to aflac and my doctor will not let me have doctors notes to file myself. If you are having issues with aflac recieving your forms - IT IS THE DR"S FAULT! (His staff) not aflac! They are super fa...
