Advil Liqui-Gels —

Yesterday, I had outpatient surgery for a hernia repair.

The doctor told me that I should take an over the counter pain reliever per directions and he also prescribed some prescription paind pills if things got bad. We had some house branded acetominephen at home (the ingredient in Tylenol), which was out because the pain meds also included acetominophen as an ingredient.

My son drove me home and we stopped at a Walgreens to get the prescription filled. I checked out the non-tylenol type pain relievers to see what I would get to supplement the prescription pain pills.

For me, the ibuprofen based meds (Advil, motrin) generally work better for me for moderate pain as compared to the naproxen-based Aleve and generics. The latter are better for intense pain, but can upset my stomach, a particular concern in this case because that's where the surgery was.

So, I cruised the house brands, when I saw this bottle, of the branded product, Advil liquigels 200mg, with a buy 40 get 40 more promotion for . Well, that was cheaper for 80 pills that the walgreens house brand.

So, I have been following directions. 1 pill every 4 to 6 hours, no more than 6 in a day. The liqui-gels are supposed to work faster and be easier on the stomach.

Today, the .local anesthesia wore off and I've needed the pills more. Generally, the Advil had been sufficient, although I've used the prescription meds a couple of times and will likely use one before I sleep. I have not had any upset stomach today.

I can recommend these, particularly in the buy 40, get 40 free package.
