My son really likes Elmo. And, so it was no surprise that he would like Elmo in Grouchland. Afterall, it is 70 minutes of Elmo!

Elmo in Grouchland centers around Elmo and his beloved blanket. Elmo's blanket is in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets accidentally tossed away by Oscar. When Elmo frantically tries to recover his blankie in Oscar's trashcan, he's whisked away to Grouchland - a nasty, unwelcoming community filled with hairy muppets with poor personal hygiene. With the exception of Vanessa Williams-- the queen of grouchland. She is dressed to look nasty but still looks stunning!

Elmo quickly learns that his blanket was taken by a greedy man with colossal eyebrows-- named Huxley--  who rides in a helicopter and has a little bug friend (who is really a good guy in disguise). Elmo sets out to teach Huxley about sharing in order to get it back. Elmo and his friends recover the blankie and all are happy.

Along the way, there is music, dancing, happiness, sadness and some preschool aged lessons. It is generally safe language (although Elmo gets a little saucy at times), short and a simple story to follow. Perfect for a 3 year old, but a 5 year old may think it is lame.

Regarding Elmo being mean, my daughter especially picked up on how mean Elmo was to Zoe, she was very upset that he told her she wasn't his friend.

Mine never got into this one but loves the sing-a-long that came afterward. You did a great job with this write up... you should do more videos! ~ Carrie
