I used k9 advantix II on 2 of my large dogs and also on my great dane. I noticed it took about a week to completely clear them of fleas. I live in Vermont where there is many fleas and tons of ticks. We have a hay field in our back yard and our dogs love to lounge out there where they pick up a lot of ticks. Two of my dogs got Lyme disease before I started using this brand. They had to have shots for the Lyme and my vet suggested we use this to help keep them from getting ticks. They were also bringing ticks into our house. Our dogs didn't have any side affects and it did work but it only worked for about 3 weeks for the fleas and they kept getting ticks in their skin the whole time. The ticks we did find were barely burrowed and they were dead and dehydrated. Apparently that is how it works. The tick dies from ingesting the dogs blood. Our dogs haven't had any Lyme symptoms and I am happy with the results. The only thing I don't like is that it works for 3 weeks rather than 4. They get fleas again before i can apply more. Side Effects No side effects for any of my dogs.

My dog is twenty two pounds and loves to be outside. We have a lot of sand here and the fleas are horrible. My poor dog was covered with them! I tried flea shampoos, but nothing worked. I tried Frontline, but that did not work either. Then I saw that cute little Canine Advantix commercial on tv. The one with the cute little puppy singing that song. I decided, since nothing else seemed to be working, I would give this one a try and maybe I would have better luck. I spent a lot of money on the Canine Advantix Flea Control and it did absolutely nothing to help the fleas on my poor dog! I was furious! I do not like this product at all and I would recommend that if you are thinking about getting it, think again. Do not get this product. It does not work! After spending all that money on Advantix Flea Control for Dogs to no avail whatsoever, I still had to go to my vet and purchase a flea pill. I will never again buy Advantix brand Dog products!

I bought and applied this product (for large dogs 21-55 lbs) to both of my dogs on 6/27/14 and on 7/12/14 I discovered a tick on one of my dogs that had bitten and was engorged. After checking both dogs over I found a total of 8 ticks between the two of them. All ticks had bitten and some were engorged! This product is suppose to last one month. I didn't even get 2 weeks before we had problems. After further research, the ticks are Deer Ticks and now my dogs need to be tested for Lyme Disease, which is likely due to the red spots left behind from the bite (and the fact that I live in Wisconsin). I am so angry that this product failed and has put my pets at risk. I will also likely have a large vet bill in order to try to get my dogs healthy. I WILL NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANY PET OWNER/LOVER. Side Effects My dogs didn't have any side effect but the product was not at all effective either.

We have a Maltese and the vet put her on Advantix for flea prevention. The medication worked for fleas. We never had a flea problem. We walked our dog daily but she is definitely and indoor dog and she didn't pick up any fleas or ticks. In that regard, the medicine worked great. However, the medicine would burn her skin and as soon as we put it on her she would start bucking like a bronco and rolling on the carpet. Her hair would get greasy and part. We could see her skin would be bright red for days. This went on for a year. One night I accidentally rubbed her spot where we applied the treatment and it was really hot. I took her to another vet and they prescribed a different medication in pill form and it has worked great so far. She no longer has chemical burns on her skin and I don't waste my time bathing and grooming her just to have a flea medication make her hair all greasy. I also wondered if it was getting on my family's hands when we pet her the first few days after application of the Advantix.

We have been using K9 Advantix for years until they cam out with K9 Advantix II, and switched to it immediately. This product really works. I tried another (cheap) product a few years ago and within a week my boys had fleas, whereas they never ever had that problem with the Advantix. Needless to say, I immediately switched back and will not ever experiment again. Quality of Ingredients Haven't found anything better. Side Effects My boys have never suffered any ill effects from this product, however, it has been reported that some doge are deathly allergic to it. When trying it for the first time, keep a very close eye on your dog(s) for any signs of distress. If there are any, take them to the vet immediately.

My two poodles got extremely sick from this product! Do not use this product. And the Bayer company does not care' Had to take them to the vets immediately. Vomiting not eating, panting, rapid heart rate, fever, very uncomfortable. I'm lucky my dog survived this. They are now on steroids and pain meds. Please do not use this product! Very scary!

Our vet told us to try these out when we had a flea infestation with our poor boxers, but it didn't really do anything. There was a short time when there was some improvement, but no long terms gains were made. The stuff also irritated our dogs skin. I wouldn't say it burnt their skin, but it left a visible mark and irritation, which did not help things at all. Another product fixed the problem fairly quickly.

This is the best flea treatment by far that i have ever used on my dogs. I've used products in the past that couldn't compare to advantix. This product was recommended to me by my vets office after an emergency visit caused from application of another brand of flea treatment. I have now been using this product for two years and will continue to do so as it is gentle and my small dog has shown absolutely no side effects from the applications. The price is a little higher than some but the saying, you get what you pay for is definately true in this case. Since using the product, i have not noticed any fleas on my dog or in my house. I would recommend this to any animal lover with small or big dogs. Also, it doesnt leave your dogs coat or skin oily like some treatments, so need to worry about stains on furniture of carpets. Please consider this brand before choosing a cheaper less effective brand that my cause problems to your dogs health.

I couldn't be more satisfied with ths product! Although I have had dogs all my life, there was never a product like this out there (aside from thse stupid flea collars that never worked). Although a bit pricey, I think it is well worth it if you consider the expence in vet bills and/or other remedies that would be needed if they weren't protected. We have been using for 2 years now and haven't seen a flea, tick or other "pest". This not only reples the fleas, ticks and lice them but kills the eggs and larve, repels mosquitoes (which is important since we live near the water) and is waterproof. We routinely apply this once a month and have been at the dog parks, on the walking nature trails, the beach ect... and have not (knock on wood) had any issues. This is only good for dogs that do not live in a house with cats. It comes in a variety of strethgs taylored to your dog based on their weight. It is easy to apply and starts working within a few hours as it seeps into the skin. A definate must to keep your dog happy and healthy. The last thing you want to do is have to deal with fleas or ticks. Quality of Ingredients Can't say I am familiar with the active ingredients although I have read them. Whatever they are, they seem to work really well and there are no side effects experienced (which is great since our dog has allergies) Side Effects We have been using this for 2 years now and we have not experienced any side effects of this product :)

My Maltese had a extremely weird reaction to Frontline, after her first application she seemed extremely lethargic and even vomited several times. After I brought this up to the vet, she told me that this wasn't normal and recommend that I try K9 Advantix instead. My puppy did not have any of the reactions she had with Frontline when I applied the Advantix, so my guess is that she was allergic to some ingredient in Frontline. Well, either way, I'm glad I decided to give Advantix a go. This topical flea preventative not only prevents your dog from catch fleas, but also protects him or her from ticks and from mosquitoes. Normally, flea preventatives do not keep mosquitoes away. This is a huge plus for me since we live in an area where mosquitoes are everywhere and we have a high heart worm rate. The price is around the same as Frontline and after more than three years of usage my dog is still tick, flea and mosquito free!
