Want the best for your pet?
Our vet turned us on to Advantage years ago, and we have relied on it ever since. We simply mark our calendar for the entire year, and follow the schedule. The one time we slipped up, our house got fleas (our poor ankles! our poor cats!) but with regular treatments, we've never had a problem.
A Little Trick
Our vet taught us to apply the product to the back of the head, where little feline tongues don't reach. Simply part the fur and put the product directly on your cat's skin. The hardest part is remembering where you've stored the Advantage between applications. :-0 Watch your cats and if they start to scratch, go ahead and apply the next round a day or two early.
Save $$$
I've heard that Advantage is available online for less than the big-box store price, which would be great, but I've always forgotten to shop ahead of my "application" date, then end up running to the pet store. Falls under the very large category of "Oh well!" ;-)
DANGER !!!!
I have also been told by a vet that the cheap liquid flea-killing products can actually kill a cat, so do some careful research if you don't intend to spring for Advantage. Personally, I don't mind spending money for something this important. It's a health issue for my entire family, and you do get a long-range supply.
Libby's Hot Tip: Application of Advantage is easier as a two-person job: one to hold your cat, and one to part the fur and apply. We have found that when we wrap our cat rather tight in a towel, with only the necessary part(s) sticking out, she stays calmer for things like this, but the whole process of using Advantage takes literally less than a minute.
The Bottom Line: Libby Loves It! (and so do Gina & Sofia)
