I have used Advantage for about 6 months, and it works great! There have been no fleas on my cat, or even in the house. I am not sure if it protects the WHOLE yard because I have a pretty large yard. But I am sure everywhere he goes, lays, or plays, there aren't any fleas or ticks, at least the few places that I have been. If there are, they don't come in with him. I have owned or been working with dogs for the last 10 years and more closely in the last 2 years. When I first owned dogs they didn't have any treatments like this and we were using flea colors, garlic pills and baths. It just didn't seem to help. I was having a problem with fleas.  I adopted my two retired racing greyhounds and promptly put them on frontline.  Every month since October and February, I put Frontline on both my dogs.  Then, when the summer hit, we were infested with fleas!  I started giving baths every month in addition to the Frontline, and nothing helped.  As soon as I switched to Advantage, the fleas were greatly diminished in about a week, and all but gone within two.  Now at three weeks, we are blissfully flea free. —  Advantage was less expensive to purchase than other… read full review »

This product is great for treating and preventing fleas.  I live in Florida where the fleas are jumping all year round.  This product was reccommended to me by my vet.  It worked to rid fleas in 1 or 2 days.  My dog was a stray and had a huge infestation problem.  This cleared it right up.  One word of caution though, be careful if you live with cats or children.  I was advised to keep both away from the dog once he had the medicine on his back.  It substance has the potential to kill cats and harm children (only in large doses though).  It is very… read full review »

    I believe this is the brand we used that protects against fleas and worms but not ticks. It has worked well as a preventative (not made for use as a treatment for worms) and flea treatment. While it works well and quickly it can be pricey. We also had a problem with the smell that seemed to stay on the dog for at least a week. Since he visits people as a working dog we want him to be as approachable as possible and the smell was a negative for us. It is great to have a product that takes care of everything with only one application! Advantage is the fastest to kill fleas, and therefore in my opinion the best at killing fleas! The best thing about this product though is that it not only does fleas and heartworms, but it also prevents intestinal parasites!! There is no other topical that does that. I have tried many other flea products out there and Advantage is the only one the seems to completely work for my dogs.  I have used flea soaps, dips, store brand flea applications as well as vet brands and I always go back to Advantage.  My dogs get instant relief and it last all month.  I would recommend this to any one needing to get fleas under control. … read full review »
