Adiri Natural Nurser Baby Bottle —

I got this bottle originally for the health aspects. It's polycarbonate-free and bisphenol-A free. And,while I'm all for breast feeding, I don't like to do it in public. When we were driving from Nashville to Oklahoma frequently, using a bottle helped make the trip go a little faster. I had used Avent with my first son and liked the functionality just fine, in fact, we still have hundreds (maybe slightly exaggerated). I tried them with my second son, and he absolutely refused...bit of a nightmare, really. I was all prepared for him to be as easy as my first son (I know, bad Momma). We tried it again, this time with Momma not in the house so he wouldn't think I could come to the rescue. Still didn't want the bottle, but gave in out of hunger. He did gag a few times (poor sweet thing).

NOW, here's where the Adiri comes into play. The first time my husband tried it, I was right next to them and it still went really well. Our second time to use it was in the car on a trip to Tulsa (roughly an hour and a half). I sat in the back with him and fed him while he was in his car seat. It was amazing! He did so well with it. He didn't even leak out the sides of his mouth, which can be a problem with other bottles. It is very soft, which allows it to fit their mouth better, more naturally. The shape of the nipple is more like momma, too. Then there is the slight texture to the outside. Aside from it feeling like the real thing, I think this also helps with it not leaking out the sides of the mouth.

I am having to return to work (praying that it's temporary), and am releived that we found a bottle that is so safe and so natural...that he'll take and not have issues when I nurse him morning and evening. The only downside I can see is that it would be harder to make the bottle in advance and heat it later. I pump and store the milk in bags (my favorite are the Lansinoh brand) so I can heat it up in seconds with really hot water and then pour it in the bottle.

(For those of you who like to shop at brick-and-mortars, I know Lily Bee's carries them. Lily Bee's is the most amazing children's boutique. They have their site as well (www.lilybees.com), but will gladly take orders over the phone and ship to anywhere. The owner is their 99% of the time, and is so helpful...and surprisingly honest.)
