Not a miracle but does its part
I have been taking this for about 5 weeks now and have dropped 20 pounds. The first few weeks, I had no desire to eat and couldn't eat after only half a portion or less. There were times I ate only because I hadn't eaten anything for 20 hours and still had no desire to...no hunger pains...nothing. I didn't want to just collapse.
After those few weeks, I noticed my appetite was back and found myself thinking about food, but still managed to refrain from large portions and I've got into the habit of eating half portions, twice daily.
It is not a miracle drug in any way. It will help you to go on a different life style when it comes to food. At this point, I see food as a necessary nutrition for the body and nothing else. I am trying to eat just enough to get me going and leave the table just a bit hungry, which goes away in 10 minutes. My enjoyment would revolve around what and where I was eating, and I believe this drug is helping to look at it a different way.
This medication is only advised for 3 months, due to possible dependence on the drug. It is only meant to help you change you lifestyle for good.
Dry mouth has been constant and gets worse when I have a lot of talking to do. You will always need a bottle of water next to you. Maybe 2 or 3 times out the week, it is hard for me to fall asleep.
This has been the longest I have stayed on a meal plan to lose weight and I believe once I am off the medication, I will continue to eat smaller portions, because my old appetite is back and I have no major problem controlling it. I can eat more if I wanted to now, but I don't.
As long as you take this understanding what and won't it do, and the time frame you are on it, and what YOU need to do during and after, it will help you to help yourself.
