Acer Laptop —
23 months ago I bought the Acer 5920, saved for 8 months, on a fixed income. It was all I could afford to buy the computor, MSN rated one of ten best under 1000, I was very happy with the computor and recommended to many friends who also bought it or the 6920. I was just playing a game from a disk and the MOTHERBOARD went pop. And it was toast. Here is the important part. They want $327. just for the part. Another 80 to install. Being on a fixed income, this is out of the question and totally unreasonable. I really loved my Acer. But now it would be cheaper to purchase an HP for 300 new at walmart and pay the 59 dollar two year warranty. I just wish then I would have had the money for the extended warranty to cover the part. On the Acer guy website, people are complaining that Acer is not honoring fried motherboards on warranty, Why?, and why so expensive in todays economy? You cannot even talk to a person at Acer. You put in your snid number, and it says "Out of warranty sorry" goodbye or pay by the minute to talk to a tech. All of this is unreasonable and unfair to the consumer. What to do? Farside53
