Great, reliable computer
Acer is a lesser known computer manufactuer in the personal computer world dominated by HP and Dell, but has made a good impression on me. I bought this computer several years ago, but it is still ticking strong. It came with a dual core AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800+ that is still more power than even the strongest netbook processor. 1GB of DDR2 memory is still adequate, but I would recommend an upgrade to at least 2GB for running Microsoft Windows Vista or 7. Hard drive prices continue to fall as they always have, but I still have not filled up the 250GB hard drive, but I don't take a lot of pictures and download from the internet. For most people DVD is still fine and the drive still works great. The onboard Nvidia video is a little slow, so I would recommend an upgrade to a newer graphics card, which it has an available PCI Express 16x slot. The media reader on the front is very convenient for downloading pictures from the various media cards of cameras. Overall, this is a solid computer that is still running well.
