Acer Timeline 4810t is not a bad laptop

4

I really like the way this laptop looks closed but after owning it for over a year, the paint job around the computer leaves something to be desired. While I type I tend to rest my wrists on either side of the trackpad and have found that it has stained darker in some areas and lighter in others. Maybe due to the natural oils from my skin, but it makes the open laptop look much older and worn than it should. Also, it is quite easy to dirty the keyboard with fingerprints and little crumbs in between the keys. However, besides these complaints, I am very happy with my purchase. I find the weight of this laptop to be light enough to carry anywhere in my backpack without strain. It is also quite thin and sturdy. I dropped it once, and to my joy I found that it held up quite nicely. The battery life is fantastic, even after a year, I am able to get nearly 6 hours per charge, and I don't really notice the reduced power of the processer, even while multitasking. I really like the quality of the screen and its brightness, although in the sunlight you will notice a reflection. The speaker sound can be tweaked to achieve a decent level. Overall, besides the complaints of the paint job, I have nothing bad to say about this computer- in fact I recommend it highly.

Acer Aspire 4810 Weighs less than a textbook

As a college student in today's modern world having a great laptop is essential and can really make a difference. When my old laptop died I desperately searched for a new one to replace it. After having to send three laptops back to HP I bought this one  on sale at staples. I figured that at least it was cheaper than the others and didn't weigh much. This laptop has been fantastic since I bought it. It's really thin and small and weighs barely more than one of my school binders. I take it everywhere with me. I stopped having to bring paper and pencil to class after I bought it because I could use it to pull up teachers power points and take quick notes. It is also good at finding wireless internet connections. I am ashamed to admit that I have dropped it a couple feet off a desk and also down a couple of stairs and it barely has a scratch on it. While I don't recommend trying that at home, at least I know that this thin, tiny machine isn't overly breakable. I highly recommend it.

The Acer 4810T is a great choice for portability!

The Acer 4810T is a wonderful computer. It looks sleek, is an ultrathin notebook, and has amazing battery life to boot!  I've been able to run this laptop for about 8 hours without needing to plug it in. It's great for going to school, taking on trips, and more. It can easily fit into a larger purse, or a computer bag, and is nice and lightweight, weighing only about 4 pounds. The screen is of HD quality, and the built in webcam is fantastic. The webcam is HD as well, and has 720p. The computer is cooled by thermal efficient cooling- this laptop never gets super hot like my past laptops have. It also has a gesture touchpad- I can use my fingers to scroll, zoom in and out of things, etc.  The Acer 4810T also has a great amount of RAM, 4GB, and has a good amount of space at 320GB. A downside though is that this computer is not a powerhorse. You can run most applications efficiently, but don't expect to go any hard core gaming on this machine.  The screen isn't flimsy like other laptops, as the backing/cover on top is made of aluminum, making it scratch resistant as well. Overall, this computer is slim, sleek, has a long lasting battery, and lightweight, making it highly portable.

Great at first

I ordered this laptop online on newegg's website and when I recieved it, it worked fine. Very easy to set up and use. It is lightweight and portable, great to travel with. Battery lasted average. Then after a week I started seeing blue screens and error messages. I thought it was nothing but then a few days passed and the keys stopped working correctly. I would hit "j" and it would give me "m" and so on. Then the keys stopped working altogether. I contacted newegg about this problem and they don't offer any warranty and that I would have talk directly to the manufacter about this problem. So I called up the manufacter and they said they couldn't do anything so now I'm stuck with this broken laptop. I think this laptop is cheaply made and should not be sold to the public. I know I'm not the only one with these problems. I now do not buy on newegg's website as they offer no warranty on anything bought there. I would not recommend this laptop to anyone and would advise that you spend the extra money and get something that will last.

Acer Aspire 4810TZseries, lastest tech, fast, 8 hours battery !!

5

I needed a new laptop; the last one i had got to hot, battery barely made it 1 hour, so i knew exactly what my next purchase should be. First of all, it had to last at least more than 5 hours at maximum performance; eventually i was asking for a 10 hour laptop at powersaving capabilities. Basically i wanted t be able to carry my laptop anywhere without worrying about recharging it. My second concern had to do wit heat. I got tired of getting burns on my body, so the new laptop had to incorporate a new mechanism to keep it cool. Well, the rest wasn't a big of a concern, even though i am an AMD supporter, i had no choice to go toward INTEL because i knew they had a new technology involving miniaturizing without degrading perfomance, which led to lower power comsumption, which meant "less heat". INTEL's PENTIUM DUO CORE line of "consumer ulta low voltage" (CULV). Everything fell into its own place, less power consumption meant more hours of battery usage, fantastic performance, and then i found ACER ASPIRE series which included INTEL's new technology, and for my surprise, lots of new innovations i could never expect on my previous laptop purchases (yea, gateway, hp, dell, toshiba, asus, you name it). Let me be quick here, i mean, LED display(better then lcd)?, HD webcam(not the crappy 1.3webcam). Let me put it these way, i chose the mentioned model becuase it included the usual "windows7", "dvd writer", "wifi-N", "HDMI", "usb ports", "card reader", "500gb hard drive", that is, basically the usual laptop now-a-days BUT, it included the 8+hourbattery, LED display, HD webcam features... thats a knock out fur current laptopbrand customermoneysuckers :) If you're gonna get one, make sure its the AS4810TZ-4120 or AS4810TZ-4508, the only ones with dual core pd; something funny, i went to bestbuy asking fur CULV laptops and they had NO CLUE LOL

Perfect for the moving around with.

Very good laptop with a really long battery life.  Very good for doing day-to-day tasks.  Cannot play 3-D games with this, even with the AMD graphics card.  Great for watching videos.  Laptop can run the whole day without charging.

Thin, many new features, very lomg life battery

Sleek machine, great display and lots of new useful features.  Battery life is outstanding, eight plus hours.  Lots of helpful software.  Comes with no real disk for backup.  Problems are mostly Vista related however it comes with a free Windows 7 upgrade.  Vista has been a disaster.  Only problem is that the Acer loses wireless connectivity too frequently.  Acer Aspire 4810T.
